The space
Greet the morning with a view of the Pacific Ocean while you sip coffee and relax on your spacious private deck. Blanchard House overlooks Van Damme beach and the adjoining state park. You'll watch pelicans and sea gulls glide effortlessly as you listen to the soothing sounds of the ocean. Your accommodation includes a full bath, tub and separate shower, a king size bed and flat screen television with DVD player. You can stay connected to the world (should you wish) via wireless internet.
The Blanchard House has been catering to guests for the past 25 years.
Other amenities include in-room freshly ground coffee, tea, a mini refrigerator and microwave. You have a private entrance and parking.
Access to the property is gated for added security.
There are restaurants less than 5 minutes away.
You can walk to the beach or along the coastal headlands without ever getting in your car.
The historic Mendocino Village is two miles away, where you can stroll among the shops, art galleries, eateries or pay a visit to the historic Kelley House Museum. Although the architecture is of a time past, you can find a latte and good food at many locations.
Other local activities and attractions include the Mendocino Art Center, Living Light Culinary School and the Botanical Gardens. Kayaking on the ocean or local rivers, hiking or beach combing, all located nearby.
Depending on the time of your visit you can enjoy the Mendocino Music Festival, the Mendocino Film Festival, the Coast Writers Conference, TedX, the Mushroom & Fungi Festival, the Whale Festival or the Wine & Crab Festival.
In Fort Bragg, you'll find the North Coast Brewery, Glass Beach, the Skunk Train, art galleries and more shops.
You can visit wineries in Anderson valley, or drive north up the coast to Pacific Star Winery with it's spectacular ocean location.
