The space
Tastefully upgraded and decorated with vintage mid-century furniture, Big Bear Treehouse has a style that sets it apart from anything else you've seen in Big Bear. Watch the cabin's episode of The Cabin Chronicles (S1E8) available on most streaming services including Hulu and HBO Max. Follow along @bigbeartreehouse.

Wander directly into the forest from the large, wrap-around deck and truly explore Big Bear in what feels like your own private forest. There is a trailhead no more than 200ft away from the cabin which has two different hiking trails to take – Both are beautiful and you rarely run into anyone else out there.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes, and silverware you'll need - just bring your ingredients and get cooking. Enjoy your meal inside where there is comfortable seating for 4 or if the weather is nice, walk outside to dine surrounded by the tall pines on the large back deck where there is plenty of seating for both dining and lounging.

The bathroom is equipped with an incredibly relaxing rain shower that feels amazing after a long day at the slopes or on the hiking trail.

Big Bear Treehouse has two spacious bedrooms. The primary bedroom at the back of the cabin has a queen-sized bed with a super comfy Purple mattress and a panoramic window that looks out into the National Forest. The second bedroom is in the loft area and has a queen-sized bed and Tuft & Needle mattress. The loft is generously lit by the cabin's front windows, while tall pines surround the cabin to provide natural privacy – I think feels a lot like sleeping in a treehouse.

For extra sleeping space, take the back cushions off the daybed in the living room, revealing a twin-sized sleeping area. There's also a full-size air mattress complete with extra sheets and an electric air pump if you'd prefer.

Get a fire going and relax in the open living room. You can bluetooth to the Marshall speaker that fills the cabin with crystal clear sound. I've designed the living room to facilitate conversation and enjoying the company of those you're with. Because of this, I've chosen not to have a TV at the cabin. But if you're craving it, the high speed wifi can get you all the online streaming you can handle.

My cabin is located a short, 12 minute drive from the ski slopes at Bear Mountain Resort and a 14 minute drive to the lively Big Bear Village with all its restaurants and shops. You'll also be close to many restaurants and a peaceful, 7 minute walk through the neighborhood to a convenience store (yes, they do sell liquor and beer). The cabin is located so that you can avoid much of the traffic on Big Bear Blvd during the busy season by taking beautiful back roads, enjoying the scenery and looking at other great cabins in the area.

Guest access
You will have access to all areas of the house with the exception of the storage space beneath the cabin and a storage closet on the first floor. You're not missing out on anything, don't worry.

Other things to note
There are 4 exterior security cameras that monitor the exterior of the cabin. They help keep the cabin safe when no one is there. These cannot see inside the cabin.

I also use a touch-pad, pin-code lock system instead of keys to make check-in buttery smooth and make things easier and safer for both my guests and myself.

Big Bear Treehouse is on a road that turns to dirt within 100ft of the driveway. The driveway is on an incline but is paved.

During the winter, snow removal services are supposed to come within 24 hours of any snowfall of a couple of inches or more to do the driveway. There have been times in bigger storms (2ft+ of snowfall) when it takes longer. It doesn't happen often and myself and guests have always been able to make it work. Just know that in those cases I'm doing everything I can to get my people out there.

Neighborhood highlights

The cabin is tucked-away on a cul-de-sac street and hidden among the tall pines. The neighborhood is usually quite quiet. There are neighbors on either side, however, these are both vacation homes without full-time tenants. There are a total of 5 other cabins on the road and all of the neighbors are extremely friendly, so don't feel shy if you run into them!

I have a passion for nature, photography, design, and DIY… All of these came together when I found a perfect cabin nestled up against the National Forest and began renovating it to be my own. After 4 years I found my second cabin, just a block away from the first. As a creative, I’ve always felt that your home can be one of the greatest ways you can express yourself. My cabins are the special place I go to escape the craziness of the city to clear my head and enjoy the company of friends and family. I hope that my cabins feel as much like home to you as they do for me. Follow along on Instagram @bigbeartreehouse
