You’ll find Belle Cora as a charming, a folk Victorian cottage near Grass Valley's historic district. Adorned with unique decor and antiques, our cozy retreat offers your luxury linens, soaps and a huge fenced in back yard with patio for grilling. A delightful 20-minute stroll takes you to the town’s historic center, boasting shops, cafes, restaurants, and a movie theatre. Conveniently located off the freeway, close to the fairgrounds, and within 30 minutes of scenic spots along the Yuba River.

The space
Constructed in 1906 with exquisite wood flooring, Belle Cora exudes old-world charm and historic allure. Despite its modest 740 square feet, you'll find that the space feels bright and spacious. The layout includes a sizable sitting area, a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, an office with high-speed wifi, and you will love our claw-foot tub. The dining area seamlessly connects to the well-equipped kitchen, and you’ll have views of the covered porch and expansive back yard—a favored spot for morning coffee and evening nightcaps.

Two splendid trees cast summer shade for you over the porch, which overlooks a spacious fenced-in backyard. You’ll find a partially covered brick patio with a BBQ grill and a cozy cafe table with chairs. While the front faces a busier street with neighbors on both sides, you’ll notice the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, especially on the front porch in the afternoon. You'll have access to a laundry room with a new washer/dryer, complete with provided detergent and dryer sheets.

For climate control, an A/C window unit is available in the office during summer (stored in winter), complemented by two ceiling fans and a few floor fans. In winter, you will feel warm and cozy with our gas-powered fireplace.

Guest access
During your stay, you will enjoy exclusive access to the entire house and yard. There is a secured storage closet reserved for housekeeping, ensuring your privacy.

Other things to note
We happily accommodate well-behaved dogs (regrettably, no cats allowed). When left unattended in the house, dogs must be crated to ensure their safety and prevent any damage to the home.

Neighborhood highlights

Quiet neighborhood just outside the historic district of Grass Valley. Our neighbors have lived here for many years, there are older couples and families. Everyone is very sweet and as it is a quiet neighborhood we respect each others privacy. The bodega is less than a block away and is very convenient if you need anything. We are just down the road from the fairgrounds which hosts many fun events throughout the year, especially in the summer.

Condon Park is just down the road with many hiking trails, an impressive playground and fenced in dog park. They even have a disk golf course!

If you enjoy walking, it is a lovely 20 minute or so stroll through the historic neighborhood into Grass Valley where you will find cafes, restaurants, shops, and the movie theatre. We love seeing the beautiful historic homes and buildings. You will pass Saint Joseph’s Cultural center, a historic landmark completed in 1866 has a museum and a beautiful historic rose garden not to be missed. Across the street from Saint Joseph’s is Old Saint Patrick’s cemetery established in 1853 and closed to new incoming customers in 1906.

A midwestern transplant now living in San Francisco, I’m an artist who owns my own business and look for any reason to abscond up north to my own cabin in the woods and I am excited to share it with you! My favorite adventure is exploring new cities/towns and seeing how the locals live. I am always searching for great restaurants, other artists and experiences that I've never had before.
