This traditional Kyoto townhouse offers approx. 190㎡ of living space across two floors, comfortably accommodating up to 8 guests.

Entrance & Hallway: luggage and coat storage, toilet, and a semi-open-air bathtub.

Japanese Room (12㎡): 2 futon sets on tatami, directly connected to the moss garden.
Living Room (17㎡): Facing the stone garden, with cloakroom, toilet, bathroom (bathtub + shower + washbasin).
Hinoki Sauna Room: With a separate shower.
2nd Floor
Japanese Room (7.5㎡): 2 futon sets on tatami.
Living Room (18㎡): With vanity and lounge space.

【Crafted Wooden Beams】
The roof beams are reinforced with red ropes using the Gion Festival float binding technique, enhancing earthquake resistance and flexibility.
Each beam is hand-finished with the Naguri carving technique, leaving natural tool marks that give a rustic yet warm texture—an irreplaceable touch of craftsmanship.
Thanks to this, the century-old townhouse has been beautifully “reborn.”

1. Children
Due to the historical and delicate nature of the Japanese sliding doors in the house, As a rule,we do not host children under 12. Thanks so much for your understanding.

2. Location
The house is located north of central Kyoto, away from the busy downtown.
It is ideal for guests who wish to experience a quiet and traditional Kyoto lifestyle.
Please search for “komoriwasai” on Google Maps to get the approximate location of the guesthouse.
3. Bedding
All bedding is Japanese-style futon on tatami.
Guests with back or leg issues, or elderly guests who may have difficulty standing up, should carefully consider before booking.
4. The garden lights turn on automatically every evening,. The moss garden is gently misted three times a day. Please relax and enjoy.
5. The sauna room and one of the shower rooms are separated from the main house by a single door, requiring just a step or two outdoors to access. Please keep warm during the winter.
6. For guests arriving by car
There is no private parking at the house.
Please use one of the nearby coin-operated parking lots, about a 2–3 minute walk from the property.
Parking fees are approximately ¥300–¥800 per night.
7. About Luggage Storage
You may store your luggage for free after 12:00 AM on your check-in day and until 2:00 PM after checkout. We also offer a paid luggage pickup & delivery service anywhere within Kyoto City (where the vehicle can stop safely). For details, please contact the host directly.
8. A paid pickup service
A paid pickup service from Kyoto Station to the property is available using a 7-seat Toyota Alphard.
Advance reservation is required. Please contact the host if you wish to use this service.
