Welcome to The Bar None - a renovated 1910 Farmhouse surrounded by 22 idyllic acres and lots of peace and quiet. Down a wide mile dirt road just 20 minutes from Athens, you will step back in time to an older Georgia, but you'll bring all the first county amenities with you including super-fast wi-fi and two smart TVs. The BNR is dawg friendly, so bring the pets, the girlfriends, the fam - or just bring the squeeze. We hope you enjoy your stay.
The space
The Bar None Ranch was my home for many years many years ago. I've recently joyfully repurposed it (with a great deal of help from my friends) specifically as a vacation rental and to use when available as my own personal getaway. There is considerable brick work in the home giving it a very warm feel. Other features include a huge living room with woodstove and 65 inch smart TV, several fireplaces around the house, wood floors, funky charm, a beautiful setting and good energy.
The house sleeps 10-12 with two/three bedrooms:
1. The Beth (queen bed and private bath)
2. The Stevie (king bed and fireplace).
3, The Delynda - the front room of the house which closes off to create the third bedroom (Four stackable singles which can be configured as one king, two kings, a king and two singles or just four singles)
4. The Melissa - a common room located adjacent to the three bedrooms (daybed that can be configured as a twin or a king)
5. Two large couches in the main living room and a chair that converts to a single sleeper sofa.
Two TV's in the house, one big computer monitor (if you must).
The spacious dining room table seats 8 and there is a table in the kitchen which is outfitted with a big refrigerator/ice maker, dishwasher, French press coffee maker and all the basics.
Enjoy the afternoon breeze on the front porch swings overlooking the walnut grove, and roll out the TV from the Delynda to enjoy the game al fresco and and in view of the propane grill. The BNR is also a lovely spot to host a family gathering, with lots of room and spots for an outdoor dinner party in particular.
There are several old barns on the property lending even more charm, and a spare fridge in the garage. There are walking trails all the way down to and along Goulding Creek and the well maintained dirt road sees little to no traffic.
The side deck is a wonderful place to watch the beautiful dark sky so don't forget to look up and enjoy the stars while you are there.
Located in scenic and historic Wolfskin, the house is just 12 miles to downtown Athens and Sanford Stadium, so a great HQ for any Athens based event you may be attending.
However, downtown Crawford, Arnoldsville and Lexington have their own charms with lots of fun places to stop and shop along the way.
We are also right around the corner from Cloverleaf Farm/Wildwood Revival and the very cool #3 Rail Road in downtown Arnoldsville. So....roam the walking trails along the back ten to Goulding Creek, pre-game, head over to Wildwood, have a dirt road cocktail cruise, explore Athens, spend the day between the hedges or just lay around the shack. Whatever brings you our way, we hope that you create many lovely memories at The Bar None.
Guest access
LuAnn - your neighbor just down the road a piece - is your hostess on the ground while you are there. She will arrange access and and answer any questions you might have.
Other things to note
The adjacent property is a chicken farm, so you might smell it as you pass by but very rarely (if at all) will you notice it at the house. The house is nestled among two big pastures on either side and although we have regular pest control, you might encounter lady bugs at certain times of the year as well as a palmetto bug or a little field mouse.
