Indulge in a slice of history at our quaint cottage in New Oxford, PA! Dating back to 1794, this cozy 1-bed, 1-bath retreat offers a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern convenience. Located just 10 miles from Gettysburg, immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of American history before strolling through New Oxford, known as the antique capital of PA. With private off-street parking, your stay promises comfort & nostalgia, creating memories as timeless as the surrounding landscape.
The space
We have private parking in the back of the property. It is accessible off of N. Bolton Street. Free on-street parking on N. Bolton Street is also available.
Guest access
You have full access to the outdoor patio with seating and a propane fire place. There is a propane bar-b-que grill to share with other guests and 2 large picnic tables for gathering.
Other things to note
This unit has stairs. The bedroom and bathroom are upstairs. The stairs are a little narrow. The main home is on a busy road but mostly blocks the vehicle noise and there is a fire station just down the street.
If you're a history buff, you'll be interested to know that Confederate General John B. Gordon and his staff occupied the house while passing through to York and Wrightsville before the Battle of Gettysburg. Well known abolitionist Thaddeus Stevens visited the home on multiple occasions visiting his friends the Hersh family.
