The space
Welcome to BAIA NEST, your home located in the quaint municipality of Gubat, Sorsogon only 90 minutes drive from the Bicol International AIRPORT in Daraga. The property sits snugly between the great PACIFIC OCEAN and vast stretches of RICE FIELDS, with a view of the awe-inspiring BULUSAN VOLCANO in the horizon.
The Malasugi Room is on the second floor of our BALINESE-INSPIRED home, within a 2,000 square meter fenced property. It's the first finished guest structure, with the swimming pool and music studio soon to follow. The portion of the property under construction is enclosed for your privacy.
Entering the gate, you'll see the Main House ahead. The NATURAL DIPPING POOL at the bottom of the staircase is shared by all guests. Upstairs, the second floor LIVING, DINING, AND KITCHEN AREA is a large central area with a high ceiling shared by guests on the second level.
The LAMADANG suite and TURINGAN loft are listed separately, so you might share the house with up to 6 other guests.
The BATALAY loft features wide sofas for lounging, a large LED TV for binge watching on Netflix, and a study desk if you're feeling productive, the perfect balance of work and relaxation.

Welcome to the Malasugi Room at Baia Nest! Here's what you need to know:
EXCLUSIVE STAY: Enjoy the entire Malasugi Suite for the duration of your stay. The living room, kitchen, and dipping pool at the bottom of the stairs are shared with other Baia Nest guests.
ROAM FREELY: The property is fenced in, so guests and animals can roam freely. Just avoid the Main House Lanai, Turingan Loft, and Lamadang Suite if you haven't booked them.
SHARED SPACES: The Shell Bathroom is spacious and unique with a shower stall that wraps around you like a shell.
ENTERTAINMENT: Books, games, and Netflix are available for your enjoyment.
FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN: The kitchen includes all everything you need to cook up a feast, except for a microwave oven. Enjoy the complimentary self-service breakfast with our very own sourdough bread, peanut butter with cacao, fresh fruit, eggs and a special blend of the best local coffee from Mindanao. Help yourself to ice-cold calamansi juice in the fridge as well. You can also purchase The Nest by the Sea's CHAMPORADO via our shop. :)

During your stay
Martin and I travel often, but we will be spending a lot of time in Bicol until our Baia Nest is fully completed.
Our Onsite MANAGER LIZ, will also be around during work hours. Feel free to approach him for any assistance you might need.
Ate Nicel, Ate Doris and Ate Vilma Santos make up our HOUSEKEEPING staff, and are always eager to share helpful knowledge about Gubat, their home town.
Our SECURITY GUARD is also always happy to help you with your vehicles as you enter and exit.
Guests will be delighted to meet our adorable FURRY FRIENDS: two lovely poodles, a playful labradoodle, and five quirky cats. Please take care not to let them run into the street when entering or exiting our front gates.
Other things to note
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
• You may encounter farm wildlife such as field mice, insects, and reptiles.
• Occasional power outages within the province can occur.
• SOME LEAKS may happen from the native roof after heavy rain.
• PARKING is available streetside outside the property.
• Some areas on the property may be under CONSTRUCTION during the day.
• PETS allowed after an approval process, with a P500 pet fee.
• Extra charges may be applied for special requests such as early check in or late check out.
• A MOTORBIKE and MINIVAN are available for rent.
ACTIVITIES
Sorsogon has great activities for all types of groups and individuals. Booked guests have access to our guide book for things to see and do around town! If you need a guide, we can recommend the best guide and whaleshark whisperer who can take you on the most epic tour around Albay and Sorsogon.
PARKING: Our driveway within the property can only accommodate two cars, or one vehicle for each room, as we are still constructing the carport. If these slots are taken, guests will have to park their vehicles by the road outside the property.
CONSTRUCTION
Baia Nest is a work in progress. We are currently building our pool. We will do our best to keep the noise to a minimum when there are guests around.
BROWNOUTS
We sometimes have whole day brownouts (6am-6pm), but we have a small generator that can power the refrigerator and wifi. The generator is not strong enough to power the water pump at the same time, so we have to choose if you want water or internet! There is water in the ground floor areas, though the pressure is a little weak. We'll be sure to coordinate when this happens!
ANIMALS AND PETS: Guests with pets should coordinate with us before arrival. Pets are allowed after a short approval process along with a pet fee.
Pets need proper introduction to our Baia Nest animals. Our dogs are not usually friendly to strange cats.
Being next to the rice fields, you may encounter farm wildlife such as field rats, insects, and reptiles.
MEALS: While our Nests are self-service, we offer in-house meals. Ask us for our menu of local dishes and meal options.
SWIMMING: No lifeguards are present, so swim at your own risk. Be aware of currents and wave conditions before entering the water.
DISCOUNTS
Our guests often regret not booking longer, so we've added in discounts for stays of 2 nights or more. The longer you stay, the bigger the discount. Treat yourself to that extra day!
DAYTIME GUESTS
Single bed or room bookings on the second and third floor are not allowed daytime guests.
NOISE
Our property is located beside the road. Expect street sounds, and the sound of fish vendors at 6 in the morning. When there is a fiesta anywhere in the vicinity, the sound travels across the rice fields to our house. This happens only a few days in a year.
CLEANING AND SHEET CHANGES
In our effort to reduce unnecessary resources, cleaning and sheet changes are conducted every 3 days for longer stays. Should you want your sheets to be changed daily, this can be arranged for an extra cleaning fee.
VEHICLES FOR RENT. If you'd like to freely explore the best kept secrets of the town or province, we have a motorbike and minivan for rent.
