Where you’ll be
Hveragerði, Iceland
The cabin is located in our backyard in the small and charming town, Hveragerði, 40 km south of Reykjavík city.
Hveragerði is a health and wellness focused little town, known for being the first to use geothermal energy for green house agrigulture. The town has green public areas, numerous geothermal springs, greenhouses, family run restaurants, a food hall with street food restaurants and a cafe, two great geothermal public pools, the Geothermal Park within short walking distance from the cabin and a grocery store/wine shop/bakery/tiny earthquake museum – all in the same building (15 minute walk from the house).
The location is ideal if you want to get an early start on day trips around the south coast or the Golden cirlce. There are horse rentals close by and the Reykjadalur hot river hike is almost at the front door. You can quite easily walk from the cabin to the famous natural baths and back in one day.
