Part of the UNESCO Observatory Cultural Village program, the exhibition emphasizes cultural preservation and education with activities including the yoik performances by Ante Aikio, and interactive exhibits that provide a hands-on understanding of Sámi traditions.
Inside, the Sámi Mythology exhibit, created in cooperation with Goranus Oy, delves into ancient religions and mythical characters that have shaped Sámi folklore.
The Reindeer Herding section highlights the vital role reindeer play in Sámi life, showcasing items made from reindeer skin, bones, and antlers, and explaining their various uses from food to transportation.
The outdoor exhibition features a 300-meter path lined with traditional Sámi buildings, each accompanied by signboards explaining their historical and cultural significance.
This path leads to a reindeer paddock, active from November to April, offering a real-life glimpse into reindeer herding practices. The outdoor area also includes seasonal displays that transform with the weather, with winter bringing snow-covered structures illuminated by multi-colored lights, creating a magical atmosphere.
Oy Levi Ski Resort (10-minute drive):
Oy Levi Ski Resort is the country's leading ski destination. The resort is renowned for its extensive range of winter sports activities and state-of-the-art facilities.
One of the key highlights is the Levi Glacier Express chairlift, a state-of-the-art Doppelmayer D-Line model. This high-speed six-seater chairlift features heated seats, a transparent protective dome, and ergonomic designs for maximum comfort.
Spanning elevations from 196 to 531 meters, Levi offers 38.5 kilometers of slopes and 26 lifts, catering to all levels of skiers from beginners to experts.

This trail also includes the Bear Chair, a beautifully carved seat that symbolizes peace and inner calm.

We also rent our car Jeep Compass 4WD via Gomore, which is very convenient to rent when staying at our cabin.
