Welcome to No. 9 The Hill, Cromford. Centrally located, characterful Grade II Listed Mill Worker’s Cottage. Sleep in the heart of Cromford village with tons on your doorstep. A clean and characterful modernised property with fairy light lit yard at the back of the property.
The space
The house is spread over three floors, surprisingly more spacious than first appears. There is a living room, compact new kitchen, old style pantry and small loo downstairs. On the first floor is a bedroom with two single beds and trundle bed (easy to stow away if you don't need it). The bathroom (shower only, no bath) is also on this middle floor. The top floor is entirely taken over by the main bedroom and is a relaxing escape.
Guest access
You’ll have access to the whole cottage, small yard and two outhouses.
Other things to note
The accommodation is on three floors.
There is one security camera which points across the back door at the key safe. We use this for double checking the cleaners have left so we can notify of any early check-in opportunities. It also lets us know whether guests have successfully checked in, as well as offering some security for the property.
Please note: There is no bath, only a walk in shower which has a very small step up into it.

Cromford is a vibrant small village with so much on the doorstep. There are three pubs, two chip shops, two art galleries, cafes, beauty studios, a quirky bookshop, and areas of historical interest all within 3 minutes walk or less! Arkwright's Mill and Cromford canal are <5 min walk. Matlock Bath is 15 minutes walk.
You walk up through the old mill workers’ allotments and there is a children’s play area very close by with great views and play equipment suitable for the smaller and slightly bigger ones. (It’s a great place to catch the last of the evening sunshine when it’s out).
You may not realise that areas of Cromford are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites.
We are very close to St Mary’s Church or Oakhill if you have a wedding there and there’s a short cut round the back (please check with the venue that this will be accessible during your stay if it is important).
