The space
This sunny, stylish, and wide-open spacious apt has everything you need for your West Philly visit. Overlooking the historic Malcolm X Park and situated just a few blocks from Baltimore Ave to the south, and Spruce St to the North, you won't be far from amazing restaurants, nightlife, and an overall sense of the West Philly community. UPenn campus is approximately a 20-minute walk (on nice tree-lined residential streets) or a 10 minute Uber ride. Center city is a 20-minute Uber ride.
The kitchen is sensibly appointed and fully stocked with cooking implements, modern appliances, and the beloved Nespresso machine (we also have a French press and plenty of pre ground Starbucks coffee available if that is more up your alley). The huge peninsula allows for plenty of counter space and also functions perfectly as a dining, gaming, and general hanging-out table.
The open concept living space features a cozy sitting area with a coffee table for casual chilling, brunching, napping, or reading up on West Philly history or Philosophy from our little library. There is also a breakfast nook with a full view of the park, which is the perfect spot for coffee and people-watching, intimate meals, or extended work marathons.
The bedroom is incredibly spacious, with a queen-size bed and plenty of room to roll out a yoga mat or whatever, and also offers a writing desk in case you need to get any writing done during your stay (also functions as a computer desk, but that sounds a bit less charming). Mounted to the wall is a Roku TV for all your on demand entertainment needs, and a full length mirror.
And of course, the apartment has brand-new ductless heating and AC for maximum comfort, as well as access to wifi, and fresh, clean linens (with plenty more available if you need at any point).
This apartment is on the first floor of an amazing eight-unit building, populated by some of West Philly's most interesting and friendly folks (seriously, if you get a chance to chat with any one of them about philosophy, politics, podcasts, or just the latest Netflix series, you will not regret it).

Access is easy—we have a keypad door lock set up, and you will receive a unique code for your stay. No keys required.
Other things to note
Proximity to public transport: We are 5 blocks from the 34 Trolley that can take you to Center City in about 15 minutes. The trolley runs every 15 minutes. The trolley also stops at UPenn on its way (about 10 minutes from us). The L train is 12 blocks from us, and that can take you to northern liberties and fishtown easily. If you want to look at locations of these things on a map, just search 'Larchwood and 51st Street', for the exact location of our house. Thank you!
