The Harpers Ferry train station is just across the street. A 2-minute walk brings you to the scenic confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers as well as Harpers Ferry National Park and John Browns Fort.
The space
The 1799 Inn offers clean, comfortable accommodations in an unbeatable location. All the amazing sights and experiences of Harpers Ferry that attract visitors from around the world, are just outside your door.
The building includes four private apartments. This ground-level apartment features a spacious combined living area, dining area, and kitchen, as well as a separate bedroom and bathroom.
NOTE: This apartment has low ceilings. It should be comfortable for anyone 6'2" or less.
Relax on the large front veranda with seating and table. The veranda is shared with other guests
Kitchenette features a full-size refrigerator, microwave and coffee-maker.
4k internet-connected Roku TV for streaming channels (no live cable TV)
IMPORTANT: The Harpers Ferry train station is just across the street and trains pass by day AND night. Many guests tell us that's one of the things they love about the place, but it can be loud. It's also a very old building and you will hear noise from adjacent apartments. If the noise will bother you, please do not book this property.

Harpers Ferry is a treasure for history lovers and the Inn is right in the heart of it all. Built in 1799, it is the 2nd oldest building in town with fascinating stories to tell. With a little imagination you can almost see the Civil War soldiers going up and down the staircase, or hear cannon shots echoing through the ravine from the Maryland Heights cliffs across the river.
You'll be right across the street from the historic Harpers Ferry train station, You can't beat the convenience if you'd like to travel here by train. Many guests find the sights and sounds of the railroad charming but please be aware that it can be loud when trains come through anytime day AND night.
The Inn is also a key stop on the Harpers Ferry Ghost tour. Listen in on the spine-tingling stories. . . if you dare.
Parking is not provided with this apartment. There is metered parking along the street in front of the inn. It's free between 6 pm and 8 am. If you have a National Park pass, you can park for free in the train station parking lot across the street. National Park passes good for 3 days can be purchased for $20.
There is a security camera overlooking the parking area.
