Vacation rentals with a kayak in Gun Lake

Great place in nature, very remote! Saw a bald eagle there! It was still very nice even in the cold, but I bet it is very nice in the warmer months.

On my way, I messaged our host because I had not seen the arrival instructions. They were immediately responsive and helped me find the email, and sent a second set of instructions to be certain I would get in easily. The house was exactly as it was pictured and described and it was perfect for a group of six guys in town to race our sail boat. We know Holland, the restaurants and our way around. Our hosts provided additional choices we were not aware of. Erin was proactive about local trash pick-up and the neighborhood. Very quiet and peaceful stay after long days out on the lake.

The property was perfect for our needs as we had planned a belated Thanksgiving dinner with my side of the family. There was enough seating for our group as well as enough bedrooms. The wife and kids were able to use the hot tub, even with the temps outside sitting near 20 degrees. The lake looks like a great place to boat and fish. Obviously, the weather in December did not allow us to use all the property had to offer, but we look forward to returning in the summer to get the full experience.

Mark’s place was absolutely stunning! Sits right on Gun Lake. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets can be seen from front to back. Extremely clean & full of whatever supplies you may need. Very communicative & knowledgeable of the area.

Jennifer’s house was incredible for our 2 family vacation. The kids had an amazing time kayaking and splashing in the pool, and it was wonderful that they had plenty of books, toys, and games available. The adults enjoyed the separate living rooms, beautiful back porch, and well-stocked kitchen. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean. There is an uncrowded beach just a mile down the road with easy parking and nearby Holland had plenty of shopping and great restaurants.

Jacob was an excellent host! I can’t wait to come back to Gun Lake (Shelbyville) again. Thanks for hosting our 2 families.

Marlene's place was great. Beautiful place right on the lake, it was perfect for our group. I highly recommend her place if you're looking for a place to stay near Battle Creek.

Great little house near the lake in a quiet neighborhood. Really quick drive to downtown Holland and Saugatuck. Friendly, responsive host left clear instructions and the house had everything you need - kitchen supplies, games, recommendations, etc. Kayaks and bikes provided in the garage.

Fantastic location!! Stayed in the area due to a wedding. My family and I couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Allie was extremely quick to respond to any questions/concerns we might of had. The home is exactly as described, very cozy. The deck and the views of the lake were fantastic. You are close and far away from everything if you understand what I mean. Most definitely would stay again!! Thank you Allie for allowing us to stay. 5 stars across 👍👍👍👍👍

If you want a serene setting to enjoy peace and quiet with spectacular sunsets over a beautiful lake, this is it! Aaron’s place was perfect for our weekend getaway and conveniently located within a five minute drive from downtown Hastings. Clean space, comfortable bed and all the little extras from charger cords to paddle boards to cozy fireplace (and did I mention spectacular sunsets?)!!! Don’t hesitate on this one. Highly recommend!

Holly’s Cozy Cottage was just that! It was comfortable and clean with yard games and a fire pit. The screened in porch was where we spent most of our time. Holly provided lots of unexpected amenities to make our stay comfortable. Holly was friendly and quick to respond to any questions. I highly recommend a stay at this AirBNB!

Loved the ease of the entry and exit, no clutter, had everything i needed, good instructions, very comfortable King bed (temperpedic?), Clean and easy to understand instructions. Someone came and salted the porch and walk, plowed the driveway. Very much appreciated! Didn’t use the hot tub as it was too snowy then muddy. Lovely very functional place. I was there alone, 15 miles from family. Felt very safe. This is just for you: Found a cozy robe in Master closet. Assumed it was for guests. Wrong - Vape and lighter in pocket. I left shampoo, conditioner in shower. After using them, shower floor is extremely slippery! Might consider installing a bar in there. I didn't fall (steady legs at age 79 - whew!). Cute little spot, very laid back and no frills. It's a short drive to Battle Creek and not far from Kalamazoo. We loved the back deck, patio, and sunroom.

My family and I were after a peaceful lakefront getaway, and Jill's place delivered! We had never visited this area before, but it felt like home from the moment we arrived. The home was beautiful and cozy and the views were stunning. We were seeking a quiet few days on a lake and I couldn't have asked for a more memorable and peaceful stay. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I just needed a peaceful, private, healing getaway and that's exactly what we got. We left a few times to get some groceries and firewood from the local shops which were listed in the book that the hosts have at the cabin full of aaallll the details. Other than needing those things, we would've never left. Thanks Laura and Matt, we had a perfect time!

Doug was a fantastic host and the ice house was a fabulous place to stay. Very nice lake and having boats accessible was the cherry on top - fishing on the lake was great fun and having south haven close by is a plus. We stopped at the local farm stands and had delicious local produce. We will return to this great getaway

Liz was an absolute wonderful host! We booked this Airbnb to celebrate our mom’s birthday and mine and my husband’s anniversary and it was PERFECT! We had access to plenty of water toys and kayaks! Every night we sat in the enclosed patio and enjoyed the views. Liz even left us fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers that we used to make a beautiful garden salad! We are vegetarians so it was truly a treat! We would definitely recommend this home to any family and we look forward to renting here again!

This cabin was a perfect, serene getaway for a siblings trip. The hosts were super friendly and the space was even better than the listing. Very clean, a lot of amenities, and the surrounding lake and woods were beautiful. Every room was extremely clean and well kept! We were able to bring our family’s dog and that was the cherry on top. Thank you so much for this experience and we will be back!

Visiting a friend in MI for thanksgiving, needed a place since her apartment was too small... Picked this one solely because it was... literally the only option. Lucky for us, it was the PERFECT cabin to do thanksgiving in!! Easy to find, very clean, nice inside, and the views of the lake - from both inside and outside - are beautiful! Glad we were there for the first snowfall of the year too!

We had a great stay at Todd's cabin. It was well-located, and close to both Saugatuck and Holland. Close to the freeway but still private and relaxing. The house itself was beautiful and well-appointed. We loved the back screened-in porch and hung out there a lot. Everything was comfortable. We used the kitchen a bit (no full meals) but had everything that we needed. Showers were nice, hot and with good water pressure. It was nice for there to be a first-floor bedroom, in addition to the upstairs rooms. It was a bit loud listening to people walk upstairs when you were downstairs because it's a log cabin and there isn't really insulation between the ceilings on the 1st floor and the floor of the 2nd floor. But not a big deal, just something to be aware of. We walked to the private beach in the neighborhood. It's small, but would be nice for kids.
