Cottage vacation rentals in Gosforth

Rented this for my stepson. He was very happy with accommodation and said it was very clean and tidy and had everything he needed. He would definitely recommend staying there.

Felt like home away from home! Great location, cosy, warm and clean cottage. Particularly I would praise the fully equipped kitchen to cook. The fireplace, the comfy beds, we loved the area and surroundings ( and the bower inn pub just 5 min driving!)!!!!! For us it was a 9.5 out of 10! Not the 10 because we love Netflix and there wasn’t a smart tv to watch other channels rather than cable tv in the evenings, but everything else was perfect, fully recommend it and we will be back!!!!

Lovely stay, beautiful village, really enjoyed the hot tub and open fire. Well equipped kitchen. Perfect for a couples weekend away.

Rose barn was a lovley stay very clean and provided us with all essentials even a lovley cake I will be recommending here , and communicate well. Hot tub was clean

We had a lovely 4 night break here, the house beautifully decorated, furnished and clean. The surroundings were lovely with walks on the door step, just be careful if you have a dog as no secure space but our dog was fine on the lead. Patrick was a great host with giving clear check in instructions and giving us recommendations for places to eat, take away options, walks and taxis beforehand. We went to lake Windermere for the day and had afternoon tea at the wild boar would definitely recommend, not your usual finger sandwiches on the menu was mini burgers, fish and chips and lots more. We also went to Kirkby Lonsdale town which was very “chocolate box” picturesque, had a lovely lunch in The Royal Hotel and walked around the unique shops. Overall, we had a lovely time at the house and would definitely recommend and visit again. Thank you Patrick

We travelled from Australia with our two young kids visiting family in Scotland & England for the festive period. Cute, quirky and cosy little cottage. Perfect for what we needed which was a quiet, relaxing break close to our family who live in the local area. We loved the fire and the rain shower. The house heats really quick to dry clothing.

A great stay in the loveliest of cozy cottages. It had all the amenities and extras that made it special. Helen was a lovely host, responsive and helpful! Would definitely stay again the next we are in the area.

Loved our stay in Keswick and this cottage was ideal. The wood burning stove and comfy living room was great for relaxing in after busy days exploring.

Very nice cottage in a lovely secluded part of the countryside. Sean and Jane were great in providing all the required info for reaching the cottage ahead of our trip (including a detailed PDF of the diversion we needed to make for a road closure). The place was very clean and the temperature was just right. Roads can be a bit tight around the area but that's to be expected. No TV but a projector with a Chromecast to watch videos on. Thanks both!

David’s cottage is beautifully renovated in a wonderful location. It is finished to an exceptional quality, extremely clean and complete with everything you need to feel right at home, cosy and comfortable. The views are stunning with horses just behind the cottage and is in short driving distance to lots of different areas around the lakes. Check in was easy, communication was great and we would definitely come and stay again!

Charming little cottage in a beautiful location. Great walks around the local area and a perfect spot for access to Windermere and the South Lake District. We were a little disappointed to find this cottage doesn't have standard access to a private garden - appreciate by request or at certain times we could have explored the wider grounds, which do look beautiful, but we had the impression from the listing that it would have its own private area. The patio to the front is pretty but too overgrown and a bit unloved which made sitting out in the evening not ideal and it isn't private. Also found it a bit jarring to find the back door is locked with a private no entry sign. These minor gripes did not ruin our stay by any means but think worth noting as we were expecting something a little different from the listing. Host very friendly and welcoming and very responsive and helpful.

We had a lovely stay at the beautiful Old Laundry. We were visiting family nearby but wish we had more time to explore all the amazing places nearby. Loved the walking route recommended to Talkin Tarn. The Old Laundry is a beautiful place to stay and felt luxurious ! The large kitchen and living area were fantastic and the bedrooms and bathrooms were also spacious and beautiful.

The cottage is a perfect bolt hole for the lakes. It was cosy and well equipped and as expected from the listing. Dan’s communication was great.

This cottage is in a quiet, secluded place but conveniently situated to road links to all the places we wanted to visit. It was really clean and comfortable, and well-equipped. We were also able to walk to a pub and farm shop which was a bonus. Catherine was really friendly and helpful, and we appreciated the breakfast items - thank you!

Lovely place to stay, perfect for what we needed for the night. It was very clean and spacious. We loved the log fire as well, definitely the best thing. The host was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. Check in was also made very easy. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

A great stop over on the at to the highlands for Christmas. Perfect for an our overnight stay. Clean and had everything we needed.

Bank House Cottage is an exceptional cottage to stay at. Hosts Veronica and Alan were wonderful, giving local recommendations and ensuring that everything was perfect for our stay. The cottage itself is beautiful and has an interesting history. It was sparkling clean and had all the amenities you could ask for. We also availed of the Hot Tub which was luxurious and very relaxing. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at the cottage and hope to return in the future.
