Vacation rentals with a fire pit in Franklin

The home was very clean and comfortable and anything we needed was provided. It is quite spacious yet sitting in the living room at night with the gas fireplace turned on was so cozy. Sitting on the back porch was peaceful and serene - total bliss. Gloria is a wonderful host and I would recommend staying here and hope to again.

We had an amazing stay at this Airbnb with our family of 10, ranging from a baby to grandparents. The house was meticulously maintained and spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing trip. The layout was perfect, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out while still having great common areas for gathering. Every room was beautifully designed, so no one felt like they got the “lesser” room. The views were absolutely incredible, and we loved the added amenities—board games, foosball, a jacuzzi, and a grill. The host was fantastic—super responsive, helpful with local recommendations, and proactive in keeping us informed about a nearby fire. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this home for any group looking for a relaxing and well-equipped retreat!

This little escape reminded me how good it feels to slow down. Whether you’re flying solo, escaping with a partner, or gathering with friends, this cabin is a perfect spot to recharge. I left feeling grounded, refreshed, and already thinking about when I can come back.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL stay! I booked this sweet little cabin for my mom & sister during their visit from Florida to meet their grandson/nephew! It was perfect for our family gathering. Peaceful, serene, had all the amenities needed to cook in the kitchen, towels were available, TV & fireplace work great. Zachary was available by messenger for any questions! The only semi-cons is that the driveway is VERY steep. I’m a local, so this kind of driveway was no big deal for me, but for someone from Florida it may be scary to drive up. The hot tub was not clean/didn’t appear to be clean so we never used it. Bummer. Ultimately, i think the pros outweigh the cons of this place. It’s a beautiful place for family to gather!

It was one of the best vacations I've ever had, a beautiful and complete house, a wonderful and peaceful place, lush landscapes, beautiful waterfalls, I want to go back to the same place in the summer to be able to enjoy the lakes better. I recommend it to everyone.

I have never stayed at a more well stocked rental. If you forgot anything, no worries, she probably has it in the house! Joan left some very thoughtful, personal touches like having the heated blanket turned on for me when I arrived, a bowl of treats, etc. My favorite part is a tie between the gorgeous claw foot soaking tub which I used every night, and the beautiful view of the mountains from a large picture window. The location was really beautiful, and had a grocery store and multiple gas stations within a few miles of the house. The only thing that kept it from being perfect, was the spotty wifi, which is understandable in the mountains, but all the lighting was hooked to Google, so Google either didn't understand, or the wifi kept failing for the commands. It just seemed it took 5x as long to turn on a lamp, than simply turning the switch. I ended up unhooking the one in the bedroom during my stay. I would highly recommend this rental, and Joan is an amazing host.

Have been vacationing in Western North Carolina for about 30 years. The Sunset Cottage is one of the most enjoyable places that I have been to. It’s in a beautiful setting, off the beaten path, and you can get to everything conveniently from there. I would like to stay there again!

Beautiful downstairs apartment with private entrance. Felt very private from the main house. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. Large space and spotlessly clean! Lots of thought went into everything you might need. Snacks and drinks in kitchen and bath amenities. Bed was comfortable and linens and pillows top notch. Easy walking distance to beautiful Main Street with great food and shopping.

If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay in a peaceful location close to downtown Franklin, look no further! Up a quaint, winding road, nestled in the trees is a wonderful two bedroom ground level apartment waiting just for you. Once you arrive you will be warmly greeted by your hosts Dave, Barb & Beans who are always available but never intrusive. Their view is wonderful! The property exactly as described. You Can’t ask for more! And I can’t wait to go back!

Five stars is not enough. Great location, comfortable, all you need is there and if it isn't Sean will make sure it is there in the blink of an eye.

Beautiful place! Morning coffee on the porch looking at the lovely mountains was great. Sunset over the mountain was spectacular! Mike & Maggie are extremely nice and accommodating. Will definitely stay here again soon!!

We never got to stay at Lara’s place due to the hurricane and not being able to get there but I seriously can’t rate a host higher. Lara was compassionate and so so helpful. It is hard to come by true, genuine people like this and I can’t recommend their place higher! Thank you for everything, we will never forget your kindness.

So fun to have a private waterfall experience! The apartment was comfy and the location was spectacular.

It was really easy to find due to the directions that were given to us before arrival. There was a book on the counter with places people enjoyed going, take out menus, and reviews of local attractions. The space was clean and had everything we needed. It wasn’t as private as some of the others we’ve stayed in but it was a nice area.

My husband and I had a beautiful stay here. Loved everything about it, especially the view. Our stay felt amazing. Communication with our host was top 10. We would definitely stay here again.

Amazing views! We enjoyed our stay in Bruce’s private and clean cabin. We appreciated the light breeze and quietness while hanging out on the porch. The cabin was still close enough to town to enjoy the restaurants, breweries and shopping. We were also able to explore other towns in the area with a short drive. Great communication with the host, Bruce.

We booked a last minute stay for spring break. It was exactly what we were looking for, quiet, peaceful, relaxing, with a little fun for all of us. We loved the creek running right outside the cabin next to the fire pit, made for an extra fun night next to the campfire! The cabin was exactly as described, spacious, clean, and had everything you needed for your stay. We would venture out to hiking trails during the day, then head back in to relax by the fire for the night. Cynthia had tons of suggestions and there was a binder on the table with local places, things to do etc. which made it very helpful.

This is just a lovely place up on a mountain! Even if you don't have an SUV or AWD, don't let the driveway scare you. Our Miata NC made it up multiple times with no problems. Take the advice of the cabin owner and go slow in low gear. The cabin was clean, comfortable and spacious. It is a peaceful, quiet and scenic spot. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch rockers and relaxing. You will be away from the action/hubbub of Fontana Village and Bryson City, but can get to either in 30-40 minutes. This was much better for us than renting several hotel rooms. The kitchen has everything you need. The hot tub area was nice, too. Owner communicates well and quickly. Thanks, Christina!

We read everything explained and didn’t need to contact Michelle about anything. Very thorough with directions on the app and also in the guest book. Thanks for the amazing stay. Just what we needed where we needed it.

Ashley’s place was great. It’s flooded with natural light and very open. The furniture and beds were super comfortable. I especially enjoyed the outside area. We have a cabin in the area but needed to book an extra cabin for our extended family. It was a great idea. Hopefully if and when we plan another family vacation, we will book this cabin again.

Went for mini vacation for spring break with wife and our aussiedoodle from April 6 - 9, 2025. Found the cute cabin, we drove past it and when we came back we found it. As soon as we went in, loved the ambiance, the simplicity of the layout, very easy check in and it had all the amenities. What we loved best is listening to the river water flow as soon as we get up and when we go to sleep. Ample place for our dog to run. Saw a number of ground hogs ( I think ) Loved the porch with rocking chairs and also LOVED the hot tub. But what we loved was sitting by the river. The bathrooms were big, very clean. The beds were ok comfy. Creeks a lot :-) . But I have to say kudos to host Tina & GSCR for being very responsive for all our needs. We are sure to come back to this beautiful cabin. Thank you for hosting us.
