We had a wonderful and peaceful stay at the Castaway. The house is well organized and very clean. We spent hours at the beach with private accessibility which was great. Hot tub was a treat. We will definitely return.

From the moment you enter this cottage, you are transported to a place of unbelievable tranquility and calm. The view of the ocean greets you like a soothing hug, and you immediately know you’ve entered a very special place. The house was beautifully appointed with everything you could need or want. It was super clean and tidy, uncluttered but cozy. Whether you sat on the deck or cuddled up in a warm blanket in the window nook, the ocean views kept calling to us to take another look. We even cancelled dinner reservations and decided to cook at the house so that we could drink in more of this wondrous coastline. There was a well-stocked market not too far where we could get provisions. There is also a private beach access for those who like to wander in the sand. If you are looking for one of the best seaside experiences of your life, do not scroll by this beautiful cottage. It went way beyond any of our expectations, and I’m sure it won’t disappoint you either.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Moon Shack! Cozy, quirky (in adorable ways), private...it was a perfect getaway spot for us. We would definitely stay there again should we travel to Gualala! Judy was super responsive and helpful. Check it out for yourself!!

This is a stunning location. Between the views, the sight of birds, the sunsets. So lovely. We really appreciated the fenced yard for the dogs. The house was well stocked. Having a beach right at our feet was great! But most of all we were so enchanted by the quiet peacefulness.

Great place to stay for a weekend or an extended stay, great local beachs with even more in a short drive. Felt right at home and will definitely be staying again!

We hand a great time at the cottage. Very cute, great views, and the dog accommodations were so sweet (they provide a dog bed, doggie bag leash clip on, bowls, dog towel and a frisbee).

5/5 would recommend to anyone! Our cabin was so cozy and it was such a treat to look out and see giraffes every morning! My only caution for potential guests is that going into the cabin requires going through two gates (and getting out of the car to get one) so it is never a fast process. But it's a small concession for such a neat, beautiful, and comfy place to stay 😊

Overall, pleasant stay, but not ideal. The property was peaceful and private. King bed was comfortable. Heating worked great. Kitchen amenities were plenty though we didn't need them. New hot tub was great! Sweetwater staff were nice and communicative. For the purpose of our stay (a retreat happening down the road), the location was great. But had we wanted to be near shops and restaurants, it wasn't very walkable. No laundry in the unit which was a bummer for our week-long stay. Also, the unit was listed as a 1-bedroom with additional sleeping options in the living room and open loft. However, there is no separate bedroom. The kind bed is in an alcove open to living areas. There is no privacy. They explained that Airbnb didn't allow for making that distinction. But, I think they could have included this info in the description of the place. It worked out ok for us since our friend who was going to join us had to cancel. So, we had the place to ourselves.

What a gem of a place! Dominic is a very thoughtful host and has created an oasis close to downtown Boonville. There are so many thoughtful touches to make your stay seem very special. It felt more like a boutique hotel than an Airbnb. Our dog loved exploring the beautiful garden and we loved how peaceful the setting was. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on the porch and watched the sun set over the hills. Can’t wait to visit again.

The location, the view, the outdoor sitting area, the hike to the beach, and the hike around the huge property were all wonderful and we'd go there again. It was isolated, a long ways from any other home, and far off the highway for silent peace with just the sound of the waves. The home was unique and we'd stay there again!

Such a beautiful and peaceful retreat! Our dogs had a blast running around off leash on the hiking trail (the first part of the trail is steep but our dog with arthritis managed it just fine) and the house was incredibly well stocked and clean. Jeff and Trey were always very responsive and so friendly. I’m so glad this was our first trip with our newborn!

Great place to stay with our chihuahuas. Great neighborhood to walk in with them. No gated yard but our dogs have fine recall. Would recommend for families. Large spacious house with the essentials and a beautiful view of the water.

Jacquelyn’s Charming Cottage on the Mendocino Coast was exactly that. We fell in love upon entering the home and you can feel how much care they put into creating this special space. The local recommendations were perfect, the location was beautiful and we feel grateful we were able to make memories here.

I plan on staying here again in the future. I needed a much needed local getaway to reset from the hustle and bustle of every day life. This delivered and more. Every day was a struggle to want to leave the house because the views were absolutely breath-taking. Since food options are limited in the surrounding areas, I recommend getting groceries before hand because you'd want to cook and share meals at this house. I'm itching to go back as soon as I can!

We enjoyed our time here. It is very rural, quiet and peaceful. Laytonville is a small town so the grocery store is very basic. It is only about 10 minutes away and open until 11. We were traveling with small children and arrived later in the day. The kids were hot and hungry and we had not had a chance to get food. The woman handling check in had a plate of fruit and was incredibly gracious to share to help keep them going until we could run in and grab groceries. She also called ahead to confirm how late they would be open. (4th of July) The walk to the private lake is not difficult and there are multiple kayaks you can use. In addition, it was during an incredible heatwave and there were regular check-ins to make sure all was well and everyone had water. There is no air conditioning but there are many fans that helped it cool off at night. Any issues or concerns were dealt with timely and appropriately. The service was truly above and beyond.

I go hiking in this region several times a year and thus have stayed in various places; this place is one of the best. It's clean, in a quiet location (bring your own supplies / food), directions to the place are accurate (write them down), getting inside is a no brainer, everything works in the house; excellent.

Great spot with nice view of the ocean. The futon and chair bed are really comfortable and the wood stove is clean and easy. Well located between awesome beaches. Hayley was responsive and friendly !

Hi my name is David I have stayed at Barbara‘s absolutely gorgeous cute/cozy home on the lake in Lakeport I highly recommend this place to anyone not only the place is nice and clean and comfortable but the location it’s at on the lake is absolutely perfect so yes I give her 100 stars

We've stayed in multiple Airbnbs in the area, and Kelly's is by far our favorite!! We were so impressed with the views, cleanliness, location and amenities. We saw deer, quail and lots of other wildlife right out the kitchen window. She even provided homemade treats and a bottle of wine!! She was so friendly and helpful, and we had a very peaceful and relaxing weekend. The bed was also very comfortable with the softest sheets we've ever felt. This will definetely be returning multiple times! ZERO complaints!!

We had a delightful stay in the cabin! The setting is so serene and beautiful, and the cabin was homey, perfectly appointed and extremely clean. I couldn’t have been happier. The ONLY thing I’d recommend would be an umbrella for the patio table (perhaps there was one in a closet, and I missed it!). Jake greeted us when we arrived, adding a personal touch. It was nice to know they were around if we needed anything, but otherwise we were left alone to enjoy our stay. I enjoyed learning more about the cabin and its/our hosts’ backstory (in the binder). Would definitely stay again and would enthusiastically recommend.

Mike & Dani are consummate hosts. They were very responsive, greeted us upon arrival, showed us the property, and invited us for a glass of wine. Their property is immaculate, well appointed, and offers a beautiful view of the vineyards. I highly recommend this place for a weekend (or longer) in Healdsburg.

This was our 2nd time booking at Christine and Cindy's place, since the location near my brother's place in Mendicino. Always quiet and easy to find even at night and always must to plug our prime Toyota in at night. Bed always comfortable and kitchen good and bathroom with the bench perfect for senors to take a shower which very wonderful. And a nice place to relax after activies. This was during Thanksgiving week once again, really like this Airbnb one of our many favorites that we have booked before.
