Vacation rentals in Fort Bayard

We really just wanted to get away from Abq for a couple of days to wind down and relax before coming into 2025. Doug’s house was so peaceful and comfortable, we felt at home immediately and had a wonderful time just hanging out.

Stay was wonderful and we were able to close the gate to let our dogs run around the yard whenever we needed. Will be returning if we are back

I'm not sure I've ever stayed in an Air BnB that was more thoughtfully appointed. From the freshly baked bread (which I enjoyed with the provided salted butter and blueberry jam), to the crisply made bed, to the quilted couch covers provided "just in case you want to snuggle your dog" (I did), every aspect of Peter and Sandy's casita was impeccable and well thought-out. Add to all that the gorgeous setting on a remote bluff above Bear Creek and miles of private hiking trails around the property, and I cannot think of a better place to stay. I kept telling myself I'd go exploring in the nearby mountains but in the end I was just as happy to stay, rest, use the hot tub, and drink tea on the sunny patio. Can't wait to go back. this is such a beautiful place and a very clean house! With so many amenities! Rachel makes sure that all of your needs are met and has thought about all of the details that are important to have available for traveling families! So pleased with this place and plan to continue to rent it for our family in the future!

We slept good, comfortable beds, clean and tidy, just like home. I look forward to another visit in the future.

We felt at home, not stressed about “being in someone else’s home” & had all my questions answered when asked. Definitely coming back.

I loved the cute suite we had. I personally would rent that out if I could. My boyfriend did notice some wear and tear, but that’s kind of what you get with a house built over 100 years ago. I say well worth it and the host was very helpful. I would stay again!

really a hidden gem. very cute and cozy in a wonderful landscape. we directly felt at home once we stepped through the door. it had everything we needed. would highly recommend to others.

What a fantastic place! We enjoyed this adorable little cottage and the surrounding neighborhood. Everything was pristinely clean and so much attention to detail. We had everything we could have wanted and more. Ceilings upstairs are low, so be prepared to duck. Would return in a heartbeat. Made a good jumping off point to head to Gila Cliff Dwellings.
