Vacation rentals in Fogliano

This is a wonderful cottage. It is SO beautiful. One of the things that I liked most about it was how quiet and peaceful it was. I particularly noticed this one morning when my wife and I were having breakfast, looking across the picturesque view of the valley and landscape. As we watched a flock of birds pass by, probably 1000 yards away, we heard a soft slapping sound. We realized that we were hearing the birds flap their wings. From partway across the valley. At night, you could hear the leaves fall. It is amazing how at peace and calm you feel when there is no background noise. It was magical. The house was beautiful too. It looks exactly like the pictures. I hope we get to return someday. The one downside is that this rental is far from restaurants. If you want to go out to eat in the evenings, there are two pizza places in Guardea (about 10 minutes away) and one restaurant near the train station in Alvianio (about 20 min away). That's it. Other dining options are 30+ min away.

We had an excellent week in the accommodation whose services are really of quality. The environment is sublime, stunning views from the logge and from the pool. Absolute calm, very clean and well-equipped apartment, upon arrival a breakfast basket was provided, as well as a bottle of prosecco. Very nice touches after a long drive. The area is beautiful and the perfect location for visiting the main towns nearby. In addition, Andrea who has taken care of us has always been extremely responsive and enthusiastic. We highly recommend! Perfectly suited for a family.

Maria Francesca's apartment is very comfortable and organized. Maria Francesca is very hospitable, she made us find the Perugina Kisses as a welcome, coffee and herbal teas. The kitchen is equipped with everything. We had a great time.

This lovely modern apartment has everything for a long or short term stay. Nice comfortable bed & good shower. Good kitchen with coffee machine. and nice accessories. Great location for visiting Assisi & Perugia and surrounding villages. Within walking distance to local bar & gelateria. Host was very welcoming.

This is such a beautiful area! We had a long weekend out of the city and it was perfect. The views are stunning, and the place comes equipped with everything you might need. Elena was responsive and helpful. A hidden gem!

Immaculate views, especially if you're looking for isolation. Gorgeous pool, plenty of room, amazing balcony, wood burning fireplaces - what more could you ask for? I spent 3 weeks here and enjoyed every minute. Was an excellent retreat space, and would love to come back again

A really peaceful and quiet place among olive trees, you are literally on top if everyone else. Montecchio is 2km away, you can get some basic groceries there, there's a pharmacy and a good restaurant. The road to the house is now covered in concrete, so you don't need to worry about renting an SUV to drive there. All the amenities are there, the kitchen is very well stacked, plenty of appliances and cookware. The pool is not large, but well maintained, a pool guy visits every few days. The house is also cool downstairs even during heatwaves as it's half underground, we didn't even need the AC (which is a ridiculous 15€/day, if you need it). The only downside is uncomfortable beds...

We had an incredible stay at David and Chrissie’s charming self-catering cottage in Umbria. The location was perfect—nestled in the stunning countryside, yet conveniently close to local attractions. The cottage itself was spacious, comfortable, and filled with character, making it a fantastic base for exploring the region. David and Chrissie were fantastic hosts, always responsive and helpful with recommendations. ( my husband, who’s an engineer, especially loved the very detailed binder of information about the property and surrounding area that Chrissie sent prior to checkin). A special highlight was the food and the wine we had at the winery below (only five minutes away)—it was some of the best we had during our time in Italy! We only wish we’d had time for one of their cooking classes or a truffle hunt, as this stay was the highlight of our trip to Umbria. We can’t wait to return!

We spent a wonderful few months in Meinolf's apartment. The house and its surrounds are even more beautiful than the photos. It is on the upstairs level of a beautifully restored stone farmhouse, with amazing views of the valley, olive groves, and the centro storico of Perugia perched on the hilltop. It is close enough to town to hear the bells ring from the churches, but far enough from roads to feel that you are in the countryside. We came without a car and took buses everywhere, which was manageable, but not easy. Do not underestimate the challenge of the walk into town (30-45 mins depending on where you want to go), or to the bus stop (15 mins), both of which are up very steep roads. Meinolf is a most wonderful, generous and kind host who will go out of his way to make your stay comfortable, but will also give you the space to feel at home. He is excellent company, a font of excellent stories, very welcoming and fun with kids, and was also very caring when we needed help.
