This unique place has a style all its own. 3rd floor Private suite with bedroom, living room, bathroom & small kitchen. The kitchen does NOT have an oven/stove. There is a microwave to warm up food and a countertop induction stove for cooking. Parking in driveway for 1 car. Paid street parking for additional cars. Our home is a 25-minute drive to Newark Airport and 10/15 drive to local hospitals. Trains to New York City are a 15 min car/ Uber ride away at Newark Penn Station.

Located a quick 30 minute train ride to NYC, 15 minutes from Newark Airport (EWR), 10 minutes from Seton Hall University, Montclair and 20 minutes away from the new American Dream Mall In East Rutherford!

Very nice inside, adjustable ac/heat, kitchen appliances and very well with communication. Only downside is that there were ants and spiders coming out of the cracks of the wall by stair case, due to the room being in the basement. Had to use their bug spray under the counter to kill them. Other than that everything was comfortable and nice

Hashim & Lina were great hosts. They responded and supported immediately for any requests. We had a nice stay for around a month and the place was exactly same as the pictures. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Highly recommend this hideout for short or long stays !

Host was responsive and easy to work with. Private, quiet and peaceful location. Clean and tidy. It is in the basement with people (assume owner) living above and to me they clearly made an effort to not make noise as over the 2 nights we stayed, we heard next to nothing from above. It was made known to the host that we were dealing with a medical situation and desired a quiet environment and I feel they went out of their way to be quiet, as normal living typically creates more noise than we heard. I appreciate the hospitality. This was our first air bnb stay and I thank them for the positive experience!

My stay was enjoyable. Sarah was a great host. She communicated swiftly and was very helpful. The area of the Airbnb was convenient and quiet and the Airbnb itself was clean and cozy. I would definitely recommend this Airbnb as well as book again in the future!

Cosy garden level walk out basement studio space

Carmen's cozy basement apartment was a good place to stay in while working in New Jersey and it what was I needed to settle in. The area is nice with a park near by and a beautiful, quiet and safe neighborhood to walk around in. If traveling with a car, it's close to grocery stores, nice restaurants, downtown Maplewood and easy access to major highways. The beach is about an hour or so away, Ocean Grove. Guests should be mindful that the window unit A/C can be a little loud (next to bed) if you're a light sleeper/ sensitive to noise, I tried to treat it like white noise. Basement apartment can also get a little toasty during the summer months. Loved having my own washer and dryer as well and space while working out here. Most listings are private room with shared spaces around here. Be mindful of parking if travelling with a car, no street parking at night/ early morning. No kitchen if you're staying long. Carmen is very responsive as a host. Would stay again in Maplewood.

I highly recommend Iyen's place to anyone seeking a comfortable and welcoming stay! I contacted her last-minute, and she kindly offered me a same-day discount. Her home is immaculate, beautifully scented, and equipped with everything you need. It’s a lower-level floor but it was surprisingly quiet, with high ceilings and so spacious. The building is modern, and the neighborhood is peaceful and secure. Iyen's place truly felt like home, and I'll definitely make it my go-to destination whenever I'm in NJ. Five stars isn't enough – I'd give it ten if I could. Thank you Iyen, u are amazing.

Very tidy. Nicole was super responsive and helpful. Unfortunately, we had some bad weather during our stay and couldn't do some of the things we had planned. Ms. Nicole gave us some suggestions for indoor fun to keep the vacation momentum going.. Very reasonably priced for the space and amenities. She also left us a welcome gift! Out of all the air BnBs we have stayed at I have never had such a nice gesture from a host! Thanks again to Nicole and her family for sharing their space with us.
