We had an incredible family weekend with two young children. The house is absolutely beautiful, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made it feel like home. The kitchen was the heart of the house for us, fully equipped with everything we needed. The unique charm of the house was a delightful touch, and the kids had a blast exploring both indoors and out. Marcus, the host, went above and beyond—he even came out to find us when we had trouble locating the entrance. He gave us a comprehensive tour and made sure we knew how everything worked. The pool area was wonderfully private, and the hot tub was a lovely addition. The rooms were very comfortable, with stunning furniture and textiles. The grounds were breathtaking, providing the perfect setting for al fresco dining in a peaceful and glorious environment. Shame we hadn't planned a longer stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Farmhouse - the postcode took us to the farm, but the cottages were close by and easy to find. The kitchen was very well stocked with crockery and there was plenty of space for 10. The kids loved the swimming pool and football field. Highly recommended.

Really lovely stay in the Manor House for a family gathering for a surprise 40th birthday, the house is beautiful has everything you would need, lovely cake and fizz on arrival. And house beautifully decorated for Christmas which just added to it :)

We very much enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage. The space is great and as an extra bonus, you get to use a heated pool and brilliant games room. We went early Jan and there was loads of snow, as well as pretty cold temperatures, but the house warmed up very quickly and we were always more than comfortable. The property is close enough to Bakewell for a short drive or taxi ride, should you want to venture into town. We're thinking about going back in the summer.

We used the accommodation for a team meeting and just blown away by it. It was our most productive yet fun and relaxed meeting yet, everything we hoped for and more. Thank you!

We had a great stay - the house is peaceful, quiet, clean, and especially cosy with the woodburner on! Richard and Jo were excellent hosts, very friendly and accommodating, and offered great advice on places to visit nearby with our two small children. We all slept amazingly well (very unusual with a 1 and 3 year old); the beds were comfy and it was so quiet. The house is well set up for visiting with toddlers - there are toys, books, stair gates etc. and the large garden is great to let them run around in. We would absolutely return, especially in the summer to really make use of the beautiful garden.

What a wonderful stay at Manor Farm. The house was beautiful, well maintained, extremely spacious and very comfortable. The surrounding countryside was stunning, with great food being served in nearby pubs and plenty of places to visit. Great space for youngsters too, with the wildlife - baby rabbits, sheep and birds and of course the swimming pool and games room, all of which they loved. Thanks to the hosts for their welcome and hospitable atmosphere.

Great value for money. Can't stress enough how friendly and reliable the staff were. We had a lovely week stay, the house was clean, the beds were comfy and the scenery was perfect. We were informed of the booking system for the swimming pool and games room, so you could have the room to yourself which was great. The pool was clean, the games room was kept tidy and the house surroundings were really lovely to walk around. You can tell the grounds were well maintained and kept in good shape as the workers never stopped, but were always so friendly. This property is perfect for bike riders, walkers and pub crawlers. You couldn't get bored.

Great little place in a quiet area. Spotlessly clean and tidy with all listed amenities that were new and usable. Communication with the hosts was quick, easy and they were accommodating of our needs. Parking is on-street only, but there was always a spot available close by so this wasn’t an issue. Would be more than happy to stay here again as price is very reasonable and location is perfect for our needs. Thanks!

We booked the house for a family weekend visiting in Derby. Great central location. Fantastic house with high ceilings and original period architecture, tastefully decorated. Loads of space to relax in and was a perfect stay. Highly recommended.

Gorgeous accommodation that was completely spotless! The views of the gardens were lovely. Lots of room in the kitchen for cooking and the bathroom was stunning, wish I’d made use of the bath. Would definitely recommend!

Fabulous weekend at Alba Lodge, immaculate spacious property with all essentials available at the property. Helpful and responsive hosts both in the run up to and during our visit. Robert's place is sport less and perfect for our contractors. Comfortable beds and spot less. Good location. Highly recommended and definitely visit again if we are around.

We stayed as a group of 6 (2 kids, a couple, a set of grandparents.... and a small pup). The house coped well for a 4 night Xmas break away. There was just about enough room for the 6 of us. The house was well equipped, and beds were comfortable. We had a small issue with the boiler (the electrics had reset after a storm earlier in the week), and we notified the host and it was sorted within the hour. The owner came by and fixed it for us. We ate dinner one night in the Wheatsheaf (next door), it was great value, the food was tasty and the service was good. We did book, not sure about walk ins. We sampled 2 other pubs in the village during our stay (about a 10 min walk) - The Pear Tree and the Curzon Arms. Both lovely, good menus, and a nice bar area if you just fancy a drink. We didn't use the hot tub as it was empty when we arrived, and nobody had the will or patience to sort it out. The house is perfect for a quiet getaway in the countryside.

We had an excellent stay where 4 generations of our family got together. The house and bedrooms are larger than we expected with everyone having ample room. We don’t think the photos do the property justice as it is far better than in the photos. The kitchen was immaculate and worked fine when cooking for 11 people but you do struggle to get more than 10 around the dining table. The owners are fantastic and we had great communications with them. We think the property was excellent value for money and would go back in a heart beat.

The property met our requirements which was within walking distance to my daughter's. A very comfortable property with the space that we needed. Alison was a great host and would certainly stay here again.

Lucy was great - always responsive and helpful/clear with instructions. The place itself was fantastic, I was there with my wife, brother and some friends over New Year, and we were very comfortable. We had our dogs as well, who loved the garden! (Though note that the garden is not fully enclosed). We had a wonderful time - thanks Lucy!

Beautiful and very roomy and spacious house. Warm and comfortable. Well equipped.Particularly for the two dogs - utility room and nice secure garden and park very close. Great to have 4 x bathrooms/shower rooms. Great walking distance into town. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a lovely and relaxed stay for a quiet girls weekend. The house was clean and welcoming. The kitchen was very well stocked for anything you could need during your stay for food and drink. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. The hot tub is an added bonus to an already great property and Katie was very helpful when we weren’t entirely sure how to use it! The house is a great base for a peaceful stay but close enough to busier places if you feel the need to venture out. Friendly host, beautiful property- I would definitely stay again!

Would like to start by thanking Penny for a warm welcome to her stunning home which included a freshly baked cake, homemade scones, jam and clotted cream plus croissants. The property itself is immaculate from top to bottom. Beautiful furniture, furnishings, beds, bed linen, towels, toiletries. You really only need to bring your food and drink and that’s it. If you forget anything Penny will sort for you. We were waiting for a taxi on the Saturday and Penny offered to drive us into town if it didn’t turn up. The grounds are stunning and there are woodland walks on the doorstep. We had the hot tub which was great fun and best of all there is a washer and tumble dryer so no wet towels and swimsuits to take home. Would definitely recommend and would love to return. Can only give a 5 star review but would give 10 star if possible. The pictures are great but seeing is believing.

Saunters Nook is a beautiful home and the surrounding area is very peaceful. The views are amazing and the log fire made the evenings a dream. The house is big but cosy and it had a few nooks inside and out that you can find and read a book! Peter and Louise’s communication was excellent and we really appreciated the treats they had left for us and it was a great welcome after our journey. For those who may not be driving by car, an hourly bus is available from Buxton train station, although one didn't return on the way out but an uber was readily available.

What a beautiful property set in such a quiet and private location not far to walk to the nearest shops or to the pub for your evening meal Would recommend if working in the area
