Beachfront vacation rentals in Emu Bay

A lovely rustic place close to everything you would need to enjoy Kangaroo Island. We loved the beach front and the character of the cottage. The best part was the enclosed courtyard, which was the selling point upon booking and didn’t disappoint. We brought 3 small dogs with us and left them in the courtyard whilst exploring the island for a whole day and it was the best set up for us!. Although the cottage was very no frills, it still felt very comfortable and relaxing.

We had a great time - we are a family of 4 with two daughters (6 and 3 yo). Location and views are awesome. Super easy to get to shops back in Penneshaw and a short drive to some great wineries and restaurants suitable for families. The house had everything you could need and was very comfortable. We would highly recommend to others

This place was even better than the photos, super clean, stylish, and in a perfect location. Loved the little touches like fresh coffee and local recommendations, it really made the stay special.

Lots of the previous reviews speak about the very pleasant accomodation and the outstanding cliff-top views - which we fully endorse too. It's just great! What we'd like to add (it was important for us) is the tranquility of the place, with nothing to disturb the absolute sense of peace, quiet and privacy - other than the local birdlife! What a gem! This cute Victorian cottage is modern and comfortable inside. We loved the location as Brownlow is close to the Kingscote shops and restaurants yet on a quiet typical inner beach; weedy but great for dog walking. Lovely hosts, Sabine and Kevin. Thanks.

Fantastic views and lots of space to spend out with multi generational family. Accessible beach and pier for fishing - we caught our dinner one night. Fun to watch the 3 resident Koalas in trees across the street and local kangaroos in surrounding yards.

Great spot in great location. Unfortunately there were some civil works being undertaken in the boat ramp car park during our stay which meant it was quite noisey with trucks and diggers from early morning. In saying that would definitely stay again once works are complete!

My husand and i stayed here for 6 days and ended up eloping at the accommodation site! It is truly beautiful and there are plently of fish to catch at the beach. Our location host tony was truly amazing and went above and beyond to make the trip unforgettable! We plan to make this our anniverasy spot! 10/10 the place is perfect for two looking to imerse themseves in the island with almost panoramic views from the bed and an almost private beach, this is your spot!

Eva's place was nice and modern. The selection of amenities was nice and the location is very convenient to walk around the town of Kingscote.

Unbelievable magical beach location the pictures don’t do this amazing place justice. Everything you need incredible hidden restaurant next door in a massive Fig Tree. Port Lincoln Fishing Adventures absolutely amazing fishing charter Gavin and Alex were fantastic went home with an esky full fish . Again word don’t describe the senery breathtaking remarkable beautiful don’t do this place justice. If you have been my advice is just go … Enjoy

Marine Cottage was perfect. The view was spectacular with the beach directly in front. The house had everything we needed, was extremely clean and had personal touches like fresh eggs and water. The location is excellent for exploring the island. We walked and swam at the beach everyday. We will be back next year. Thanks Peter and Jo.

Great location overlooking the ocean. Home is well designed with windows taking advantage of light and views. Kitchen well stocked with everything one could need. Two bathrooms and two lounge areas made it a very enjoyable stay. Would love to stay again sometime. Thank you Christine.

Great house for our group of 12, lots of room downstairs and up, nice views, right on the beach and walking distance to the jetty and pub (400m) we'll be back.

Our experience at Shylies was outstanding, and we are already looking forward to our next visit, which is a reflection of the high quality of the accommodation. Located in close proximity to the ferry port, the property is easily accessible, and upon arrival, we were impressed by the peaceful and secluded surroundings. The accommodation exceeded our expectations in every way, and we particularly enjoyed relaxing on the deck with a bottle of wine, observing the local wildlife, and even spotting a few kangaroos. The property is exceptionally well-appointed and maintained, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the bed linen was of exceptional quality. A highlight of our stay was the stunning private beach, accessible via a short walk from the property, which we enjoyed visiting every evening. We would like to thank Kate and Andy for accommodating us at short notice, and we look forward to returning soon.

French couple visiting Kangaroo Island for the first time. Emily is a premium host, she’s very reactive and the beach house is super clean and well decorated. The view from the living room and master bedroom is stunning. You’ll be able to spot from the beach house : kangaroos, wallabies, dolphins, galah cockatoos, cormorants etc. We even saw a seal !! U can go for a swim in front of the house but we recommend the Stokes Bay beach (paradise beach) 10min by walk from the house. The beach house is well-located (in the middle of the island so u ll be mid-distance from everything) but be careful to go to the supermarket at your arrival in Cape Jervis (port) because there are none other supermarkets around the beach house. Nearest real supermarket is in Kingscote (40min by car). We’ll enjoy coming back and having seafront bbqs !! Thx for all

What an incredible getaway at Gabi and Jim’s accommodation! This place was worth every single penny and my group had the most wonderful stay. It felt luxurious from the first moment we pulled up to the property. The photos do not do this location justice. The house was spacious, it had every single possible amenity we could need, the kitchen was big, the bedrooms were comfortable, the outdoor space was fabulous to relax in. The pool was a winner though, heated, an incredible view at sunset, watching kangaroos hop by. We really couldn’t have stayed at a better place, it was such a lovely treat. Thank you for such a relaxing weekend, it won’t be forgotten and I would absolutely stay again.

Beautifully appointed townhouse overlooking the sea. Very well equipped and felt like a real home from home. Everything you need to either dine out or dine in. Excellent location for access to shops and restaurants 2 minute walk away. Drakes supermarket is great, we found everything we needed. Rachel is a superb host, she made it all very smooth and easy for us, and provided lots of excellent recommendations for activities, restaurants etc. We were indeed sorry to leave! Thank you Rachel!

Place is beautiful and matches photos! Furnishings are very well thought out and instantly give you a holiday vibe. We had a local koala in the next door neighbour’s tree and we saw an echidna cross the road not far from the property. The beach was fun to fish in the evening and the beach definitely looked like a good crabbing beach throughout the day. Great central location, being not far from Kingscote and not far from Penneshaw. There are no supplies available without a drive though so make sure you have supplies. Would highly recommend to others if you are looking for a relaxing getaway! Kevin is a great host to deal with also, thanks again for a lovely stay.

Our third stay at Doyle's, and each time it feels like a home away from home. Beautiful surroundings, peaceful bush noises, modern amenities - this place has it all! So much space and plenty for everyone to do! The Starlink internet is SUPERFAST!! Thanks for that upgrade lol Special mention to Craig and Rachael, the wonderful custodians. They always go above and beyond to make sure we have everything we need. This time they wrote a beautiful card for us that really touched our hearts! ❤️❤️❤️

Fantastic home away from home in a stunning location. Very peaceful, private, comfy and relaxing. The house had everything we needed and more, than you would expect. Super comfortable beds, we all slept very well. Michelle was great to deal with, every step of the process was a breeze. The drive on beach at Emu Bay is one of the best we have visited, and not too busy despite the hot weather and long weekend there were no crowds and it’s great to set up for the day at the beach a stones throw from the house. Lots of fish were caught by the kids off the jetty while we watched from the house deck directly across the road, we saw penguins, pelicans and wildlife galore, this truly is a remarkable house and location. Highly recommend, we enjoyed our stay so much we’re already planning another. Thanks Michelle for your hospitality it was one of the best holidays we’ve had.

I wish we could have stayed at Richard’s house forever! The view was absolutely astonishing!! Ocean everywhere you looked. It felt like we were on our own private island. We enjoyed seeing the little penguins every night. We ordered food and brought home every night so we could sit on the deck and enjoy the beautiful sunset. Beds and linens were super comfortable. Very clean and spacious house. We watched movies on the giant TV. Richard was very easy to communicate with! Highly recommend this house if you’re coming to Emu Bay!!
