Lakefront Cabin in Stunning Storybook Setting

ElizabethRating, 5 stars6 days ago
The house is beautiful with huge windows looking out onto the trees and the water. My 14year old grandson loved the privacy and comforts if the upstairs. We loved the warmth and cozy feeling of the gas fireplace. The location is perfect. We were close to the parks, activities, restaurants and a great grocery store. We hiked all week and loved every minute. The host was extremely responsive and helpful. We definitely plan on returning next year.

Living Water:Safe, fun, lakefront hottub, dockslip

KeithRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The house is very beautiful and right on the lake. It offered plenty of room for family and friends. The house is next to the highway and there is a little bit of road noise, but not unbearable. We were there in the off season so we did not experience the lake noise or traffic. There is a marina right next door, but it was closed when we were there. The house is within minutes of some great restaurants and gift shops. The hot tub is great. The host was very responsive and kind. They have a beautiful home and I am glad they shared it with us. You will not be upset if you stay here.

Large 5 BR - Steps from Lake & Wisp!

EleanorRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Great location - walking distance from Wisp for skiing and tubing (though not easy with gear) and a short drive to the grocery store. This was our second stay at this property and we love how family friendly it is - the kids love the game room and climbing wall and it’s a good setup for multiple families.

Langski's Lakeview of Wisp Mt.

TomRating, 5 stars3 months ago
Great location. All Needed items. Was informed prior to going to bring extra towels for the hot tub and that was nice to know in advance. We got a foot of snow the day after we arrived and there were two snow shovels for our use and we needed both of them. Will hope to stay there again.

Lakefront/Dock/Amazing views HotTub

MichelleRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We had a fantastic stay. The place is just what we needed, everyone had their own room with space. We loved the kitchen and the dinning room area for our big breakfasts and dinners we had. The kitchen was stocked with everything that we needed for cooking which is super nice. The views from each level were simply beautiful. The location was perfect. We went out to Honi Honi which was a 5 minute Uber. I was concerned about being right off the highway but once you were inside the noise was fine. The check in and check out process was super easy. We didn’t need to communicate with Hima a ton, but when we did she was super responsive.

The Cabin at Garrett Hill

AbigailRating, 5 stars3 months ago
This cabin and the hosts are 5 stars, A+, 10 out of 10! The location is close to Deep Creek and Wisp, yet feels very private. Every window offers sweeping views of the countryside and mountains. The accomodations are a perfect blend of modern and rustic. The cabin offers all the creature comforts you need, including memory foam beds, a hot tub, beautiful bathrooms, and a gourmet kitchen. The hosts went out of their way to ensure the cabin was toasty warm and welcoming when we arrived - and were even able to have the wood burning stove ready for us! I highly recommend this lovingly maintained home where you are treated like cherished guests, and would absolutely love to visit again.

Entire Home in the Heart of Deep Creek Lake

ChelseyRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We enjoyed our stay during a snowy weekend in February! It was very clean and had everything we needed. Since it was snowing, we definitely needed 4 wheel drive to access the road. The hot tub was great. The only draw back was the lack of privacy in the upstairs bedrooms. Other than that, it was a lovely vacation.

Newly Renovated 2 Bed/2 Bath in Deep Creek

JulianRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We loved our stay! The place was clean and comfortable and had everything we might need. The light pollution is much lower than in the city where I'm used to, so stargazing in the hot tub was an unexpected pleasure. The only downside was that we didn't realize that in the winter when the trees are bare, the balcony with the hot tub is quite visible from the road and the farm across the street, so it felt less private than we had hoped.

The description of the house was not correct. I mean that in a great way. The photos don’t have nothing on the in person appearance. This house is huge inside. The home is beautiful and was very clean. Laura was very responsive and nice. We have discussed renting this property again.

Here on Holiday

CorbinRating, 5 stars1 month ago
As a former resident of the area, when I travel back to visit family, I like to find a place that has some privacy and also the amenities that I want. Andrew's house checked all of the boxes. The location is private yet close to activities and the lake. The house was very clean and although I did not use the kitchen, it was stocked with plenty of dishes, pots and pans for cooking a meal for a night in. I had a problem finding the Wifi password in my messages (my fault, it was sent to me earlier) and when I reached out to get it, the response came back within minutes. I enjoyed my stay very much.

Your guide to Deep Creek Lake

All About Deep Creek Lake

In the mountains of western Maryland, Deep Creek Lake is the kind of retreat that calls for repeat visits. From June through August, the area is a picture of summer done right, with swimmers diving off of docks into the vast lake, and kayakers gliding across it in search of quiet coves. In fall, the action moves from the lake to mountains, as visitors wind through scenic backroads taking in the fall foliage. Winter usually brings upward of 100 inches of snow, drawing both downhill and cross-country skiers. And when the snow melts in spring, it reveals miles of hiking and biking trails along the river and through the woods.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Deep Creek Lake

In summer, the climate stays in the ideal pocket of upper 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit with little humidity (there are occasional showers, but they pass through quickly). Fall weather is markedly crisp and can be unpredictable, with temperatures from the 30s to the 60s. In the winter, bring your warmest coats and layers: Temperatures average in the 30s and 40s, but often dip below zero too. Spring warms up to the 50s and 60s, with the most rain of the year (tapering off in May); pack a rain jacket and shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy.

Top things to do in Deep Creek Lake

Deep Creek Lake

Many people visit this 3,900-acre man-made lake seeking serenity, be it by kayak, paddleboard, or boat. But the lake is also a natural amusement park, one where you can shoot across the water on jet skis or in an inner tube towed by a motor boat. Swimmers can get lake access via the public beach at Deep Creek Lake State Park. For gear rentals or tours, most outfitters are based in the towns of McHenry or Oakland.

Swallow Falls State Park

Of all the wilderness to explore in the area—Garrett County has seven state parks—Swallow Falls should be on the top of your list. Many of its trails follow the river, so wear a swimsuit under your hiking clothes so you can take breaks in the calmer sections of water. An easy 1¼-mile hike takes you to the park’s main attraction, the 53-foot Muddy Creek Falls waterfall.

Youghiogheny River

Serious whitewater rafting enthusiasts from all over the country come to southern Pennsylvania to conquer the Youghiogheny River’s IV and V rapids, including the notorious Meat Cleaver, a gnarly stretch of falls that bends through a maze of jagged boulders. Unless you really know what you’re doing, stick to the Middle Yough and section and enjoy a more leisurely experience.
