Lobster Lake Lodge EXCEEDED our expectations! We had a fantastic weekend with our extended family- from toddler to great-grandparents. The decks added on are such an easy way to enjoy the lake view. We played games, had a campfire, watched a football game, went out on the paddle boat, walked in the road to enjoy the fall colors- a wonderful extended weekend- and you made it easy. Thank you! ❤️ We hope to be able to come back!

Great location for our gathering. Everyone had their own room. We utilized every aspect of the house to include the game room, movie room, and kayaks on the lake. The house had all the needed amenities to include three grills and a fire pit, and the owner left us plenty of wood to cover both nights. The town in about a quarter of a mile away in case you need groceries, restaurants or other activities but we never left the property because it had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this house for anyone with a large family or reunion.

Melissa was such a great host, helpful and clear communication before/during/after visit. The house was very comfortable, clean, had lots to do to stay entertained and is the most amazing location! We were able to drive to restaurants or shopping within minutes. Highly recommend staying here and visiting Detroit Lakes.

This is a 4.5/5 rating. Chad was very accommodating, i.e. as long as you communicate your concerns with him, he'll provide quick and helpful solutions. Our trip was over Thanksgiving weekend. The place was cozier than shown in the pictures. We never felt so at home at an Airbnb. The surrounding was tranquil. Some highlights: My Asian in-laws were very impressed with well stocked the kitchen was, except for chopsticks but that's to be expected. The fireplace in the living room is a very nice touch. Combined with surround sound, it was a perfect hangout place for the family. There was endless entertainment from board games, yard games, foosball table, piano, books, and wildlife watching by the big windows in the living room. Notes for future guests: 1. Dress appropriately for the weather even for indoor. It was well below freezing outside during our stay so the master bath became too cold at times. We were comfortable anywhere else in the house. 2. If you like using chopsticks, BYO

Returned to this location for my fourth visit at the end of October. A few relaxing days in the woods each fall has become an event I truly look forward to. As always, Stephanie was a gracious host and the cabin was perfect. I'll look forward to visiting again! Would recommend.

Beautiful home on a beautiful lake. Well stocked with all the dishes and utensils and cookware you could need. Comfortable beds. We rented the pontoon, which was great to take out and cruise the lake. We saw lions and bald eagles from the dock daily, which was a delight. Mark and his team were very responsive and very helpful. Would stay again in a heartbeat!

Our family’s stay met all the requirements and expectations we had. We enjoyed the property, the proximity to Itasca where my 3 granddaughters were able to enjoy walking across the Mississippi having learned about it in their MN history classes, and the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of the property. Watching the sunrise from the windows as well as the moon over the lake were equally enjoyed. And as a silly note, the crock pot was so helpful!

Sugar Sand Retreat was a beautiful place to stay. The lakefront is gorgeous and has plenty of space for yard games. Awesome clean lake. The house was clean and has great gathering spaces to eat and play. We felt right at home. Be aware that this property is next to the public boat launch with no fence between the 2 properties. Although people came and went consistently, the area still felt safe. There are Ring cameras on the front and the back of the property, likely due to being next to the public boat launch. Just something to be aware of in the event it’s relevant to you. We had one minor repair issue and Dave and Sarah were quick to respond and sent someone out to take care of the issue right away. We sure appreciated that-great hosts! Positives of this property far outweighed the lack of privacy for our families. Beautiful property well-kept and cared for. Thanks for a great stay!
