Castle vacation rentals in County Cork

This is a gorgeous authentic Big House. Some updates have been made over time; however, it retains many quirks of its old charm. This is a big room in an old house so it can get a bit drafty - close the curtains and shutters and enjoy a nice hot bath to warm up. Just get the tub started a bit ahead of time. The hot water takes a few minutes to make it upstairs but it’s piping hot when it gets there. Bring some warm house clothes and slippers and make sure you leave time to explore the house and peruse all the books. Also make sure you bring some comfortable clothes and waterproof shoes so you can enjoy exploring the gardens and grounds. We easily spent over 2 hours out there. If you’re an American, make sure you have an electrical adapter. There’s plenty of outlets, mix of European and UK. As nature and history lovers as well as bibliophiles this was such a cool stop on our trip.

What an absolute special place and host, Louise is simply amazing!! So many wonderful recommendations for the local areas. She really made our holiday so very special and we just can’t thank her and her family enough!! We can’t wait to return to Ireland again soon and we will definitely be staying here again!! As soon as you pull in to the gate and up the beautiful drive, you know you’re in for something special. The castle and history about the castle are only a small part of what makes this place amazing. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They gave us local recommendations for food and drinks. The next morning we had breakfast brought to our door and were allowed to walk the grounds, greeting all of the farm animals along the way. The dogs are friendly and will be your private tour guides if you let them. The sheep were a highlight for my wife. 5 Stars, will come back if we make it back to Ireland.

Lovely place in the countryside, close enough to the coast, Cobh and Cork, for a long weekend with family & friends. The house is lovely, with everything you need for a nice breakfast/dinner. Amazing walk on the riverside, and open space enough for the kids to burn all their energy. Paul and Siobhan, always ON, just in case of need. Would repeat with no doubt.

We had to ask for an early check in and the host was extremely accommodating. I never felt like I was inconveniencing her which I greatly appreciate.
