A great little B&B, would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in these parts. Great views out the front of the house, lovely and quiet and a lovely cooked breakfast to top it off. I will be back again I'm sure.

Easy enough to find, friendly host and clean comfy bedroom. Beautiful views and a relaxing stay.

Very peaceful setting, the lodge was cosy and well maintained. Comfy beds and kitted out with everything you need for a family stay. Worth the walk to the local pubs for a friendly welcome and great food.

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Bank House Farm... treading in the steps of the Swallows and Amazons! The farm house is beautiful, quirky, and historic all at once. We ate in the restaurant where the food is absolutely fabulous, of a very high standard and totally delicious. The meat is reared just there on the farm and it was fantastic to know its local origin. Nothing was too much trouble - when the restaurant was closed, Ross the Chef left us generous sharing platters for our evening meal, and we went off every day with an equally generous packed lunch! We will definitely be back again! Hopefully better weather next time though!

We loved our stay at the Bank Ground farm. Jonathon and the staff were extremely hospitable and friendly, and the food was delicious! We can't wait to go back again!

Me and a mate stayed here nice hot clean showers and toilets, almost seamed brand new. Bunk bed was comfortable with nice fresh linen and the room was tidy with a wardrobe and enough space for a few bags. Communal kitchen with drinking water and sinks, also a nice cooked breakfast in the morning.

I came to the Mallard Lodge with my husband, 2 lads and their partners to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. This lodge was clean, homely, comfortable and very well equipped in the kitchen, bathroom, living room and on the family games front too. The lodge is situated in an area so peaceful and beautiful surroundings and an excellent area for some great walks. We were even greeted with a big, fresh loaf of bread, a lovely Victorian sandwich cake, eggs, butter, sugar, tea, milk and coffee - such a lovely touch. The hot tub was amazing, clean and under cover - which was useful especially when it rained one night!! Jenny and Selena have been so helpful before our trip, on check in and offered lots of advice on local events and amenities. We would have no issues coming back here, in fact ‘we will be back’ Thank you Jennie and Selena - don’t change - you do a fabulous job in making your customers feel very welcome.

Johnathon was such a warm, welcoming host. We booked at short notice but everything was ready and perfect when we got there. It’s a beautiful place with amazing views. Great communication and special touches

Absolutely amazing hotel. Room was very clean and had everything we needed. Towels and snacks were changed frequently which was amazing. Swimming pool and jacuzzi were absolutely amazing and free to use for all guests. The area does not have many shops/restaurants but that is not a reason to not stay here!

You won’t be disappointed. The setting is far enough away from town that you feel calm, but close enough to walk to when you wish. Ideal. Beautiful views from the balcony and nothing but birds to listen to. Hotel was clean and fresh. Menu was interesting and broad. Staff were all efficient and polite. Fantastic

Friendly staff and great facilities at the Hotel Washington Central including the gym and pool. The food was great and a nice bar to wind down late into the night. Would definitely stay there again :-)

I was looking for somewhere quiet to stay as I was spending the weekend racing in the Lakes. I had a clean, comfortable room and access to a good kitchen, plus lovely views over the fields from the bedroom window. It was exactly what I needed and I would definitely stay again.
