Cottage vacation rentals in Cockington

What a lovely little cottage for our short stay in Devon. Having never been to Devon before, Ben was very helpful in offering some suggestions of places to visit. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Katharyn and Ben who had proactively cleared the snowy path to the cottage and provided an additional heater for the very cold weather. From booking to checkout, the whole process was seamless with very clear instructions on how to find the place and very quick responses to any messages via the app. The cottage is stylish and cosy, well thought out. My favourite part was the hot tub within the private and fully enclosed courtyard garden (which was full secure for our dog). Should we visit Devon again, we will definitely stay here again!

A beautiful home with a stunning view. It was lovely and warm and comfortable, with space for relaxation and games. We went on some lovely walks. The hot tub was also great! Highly recommend.

A fantastic stay. Booked as a surprised for my wife’s 30th and stayed with 2 other couples. The place was spotless, well equipped and just perfect for our getaway. Martin is so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The pub down the road (the Ley Arms) is equally fantastic with superb food. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. Really hope we can come back soon.

I cannot express enough how incredible Dunstone Cottage is.Claire is a fantastic host and I was very pleased with the extra thought and care that went into preparing our arrival with some extra decorative touches that made our holiday extra special.Upon arrival the cottage was pristine inside and out and it felt like home. The location is perfect with lots of local walks on the doorstep coupled with the view from the Cottage garden with the sound of birds creates the most tranquil experience for the perfect countryside retreat. I would highly recommend Dunstone Cottage and would love to stay again.

We had a really nice weekend at this property. Everything was so clean and tidy when we arrived, we really appreciated the welcome snacks and even a bottle of wine. It was very well equipped, even for us with a 8 year old and a 2 year old. The hot tub is a fantastic high end feature of the reservation. We would definitely recommend staying here and we would like to stay again one day.

Had a fantastic stay. Easy, communicative hosts and the cottage had everything to make a wintry stay comfortable and welcoming. Terrific location adjacent to parklands and wonderful dog walks. I will be back!

Great place to chill or get about. A short boat taxi to Barbican and several pubs locally that are great. Ideal location for Plymouth and surrounding areas. This is a great place to stay.

We loved our stay at the cottage. It’s on a really quiet road, but was only a 2 minute walk from the centre of Dawlish and the seafront. The property itself was lovely, very clean and furnished to a good standard. Would definitely recommend!!

A beautiful , peaceful and idyllic setting. Only fifteen minutes from Chard but set amongst the fields and farmland. The host gave really clear instructions and was prompt in replying. She greeted us on arrival and showed us to the cottage. A nice touch were flowers from the garden in the kitchen. Lovely walks around house, pond and orchard. We were allowed use of a beautiful glass garden house in a walled garden. A perfect place to enjoy a glass or two of wine and watch the sun go down. We will definitely be back.

Had a hugely enjoyable stay with the family and our two dogs. Loved the location and always wonderful to be able to hear the waves from the property! Two minute walk to the beach and very close to SW Coast Path. Property was exactly as described and had everything we needed. Toasty warm with the added bonus of log burner and great shower. So much to see and explore nearby and loads of information and recommendations from Kelly. Will definitely be back.

Very sweet cottage in a very quiet location. It's compact downstairs but has everything you need, is well furnished and very cosy. We were there during storm Darragh and there was a power cut so sitting with the log burner going and tea lights made it even cosier! The bedroom is pretty and the bed is very comfy. Lovely bathroom. Jenni and Neil were very friendly and helpful especially with the power going off. They brought a lantern and tea lights and checked we were OK. We would highly recommend it for visiting Exter. Easy access to the Park and Ride.

This accommodation is tasteful, immaculate and perfect for a quiet time away. Tina was helpful and responsive and check-in was easy. The attention to detail was wonderful and there was a Christmas tree - really festive! Jasmine Cottage is one of a group of cottages and would be perfect for larger groups of family/friends. We were only there for one night but wished that we could have stayed longer.

We had a wonderful stay at Eleanor’s cottage. The location is great, really close to the centre of Totness with quick access to great beaches and stunning countryside. Eleanor has some great recommendations in her welcome folder, particular faves were the independent cinema, Indian restaurant and Man beach. The house is well decorated and furnished and the kitchen is well equipped. We hope to visit again

Victoria was friendly, welcoming and helpful. Some delightful goodies awaited our arrival! The location is peaceful and set in a beautiful garden with a lovely view over the rolling countryside. A reasonable walk down to North Sands where there is a friendly beachside cafe/restaurant, The Winking Prawn. From there a good walk along Cliff Road, with great views over the Estuary, takes you into Salcombe. The property is perfect for two. Has all the necessary amenities. Well equipped kitchen, lots of hot water, a good shower in the bathroom and a comfortable sitting room. We hope to be able to return!

The Cider Barn was the perfect place to shelter away from storm Bert. And Susy and Ben were very helpful and responsive hosts. It’s a beautiful location and we enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch at the lovely local pub. We hope to return with better weather as it’s a great location to explore the area in all directions.

Christina cottage was beautiful inside and out side, very quiet and was lovely to be sitting outside in the sunshine in the mornings. The kitchen was well equipped to cook meals, the 2 bedrooms both of them were on suite, lovely lounge with confortable sofa and chairs all in all great place to stay and highly recommended I certainly will be coming back in the future.

I don't really know where to start with this review as this place is something truly special. Barbara was easy to communicate with and our hosts at the property Bob and Sue were a lovely couple and super helpful, we felt right at home from the start. We were a party of 16 and 4 dogs split between the 3 cottages to celebrate our mum's 80th birthday! We spent most of our time in Great Cleave which we called the 'party house', it had everything you could possibly need and the huge table was great for entertaining. The other 2 cottages Little Cleave and Old Orchard were as equally well equipped and comfortable with lovely beds, the duvets were freshly ironed and everything was very clean. Thoughtfully, all the log burners and BBQs had been prepped ready for use including fire lighters, logs, matches and briquettes. The swimming pool and sauna were wonderful, lots of fun and a true gem as was the games room! Memories were made that will last a lifetime and we will definitely return.

We stayed at Penny's place for several months and it's been a home away from home for us. The house was very clean when we arrived and Penny provides linen and towels for us on a regular basis to help keep everything feeling fresh. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed is very comfy; the bathroom also was very clean and easy to maintain during our stay. It's quite easy to keep the place warm during winter without much effort which was great for us since we're not from the UK and aren't used to the cold weather. Penny provided plenty of local recommendations for places to eat, see and explore. She also is very responsive and has been helpful at every moment. The place is located just outside of Yealmpton which means it's very private but also close by to local shops, and not too far of a drive from the centre of Plymouth. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Penny's place and would absolutely recommend staying here for short and long term durations.
