Cabin vacation rentals in Central Otago District

Excellent spot to recharge before the flight out the next day. Very close to airport, allowing a less hectic morning than staying in town. I would recommend this place to anyone with a morning flight. The traffic. Was very backed up the other direction but not from here.

We had an amazing stay! Sean was a wonderful host, making us feel truly welcome. The accommodation was immaculate—premium quality and absolutely worth every dollar. When we left, we genuinely prayed for his health and well-being, as his hospitality was exceptional. Highly recommend!

We were a group of five (3 adults, two young children) and really enjoyed our stay at this fairytale house. It was very clean and furnished with lots of charming accessories which make the place even more WOW. I personally loved the outdoor illumination at night, which added to the fairytale feeling. We also made use of the hot tub. The only thing to improve is the wifi speed and coverage throughout the house. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a very special stay.

I stayed in the Tiny House of Sally together with my wife and our little infant. We are so grateful for finding this little gem! It was one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. The house had everything we needed. Sally was very courteous and the area around is amazing. We will never forget this experience and of course we will also not forget Maggie! Fantastic dog lady! The accommodation is in a great location and we received a very friendly welcome and we also had a lot of fun with the lovely dogs.

Warm and stylish accommodation. You can never experience it in the city. Living there feel peaceful and quite. Hot tub is a bonus.

they were very nice. even loaned me a chefs knife and some oil. let us pick some fruit from the trees. would recomend.

Absolutely loved my stay at Jillian's. The cottage was so beautiful and cozy with the fire going. Jillian really went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable and relaxing, with comfy bedding, freshly baked bread and plenty of fire wood for the fire. Thank you so much for hosting me, couldn't recommend a place more. Would love to come back and visit in the future.

The cabin was perfect, absolutely no complaints whatsoever. Easy check-in, good communication and everything was as described. All of the cooking utensils appear to be new, so again this was all good. Also the air conditioner was great and more than coped with the hot weather. All in all the cabin had everything we needed for our short (3 day) stay.

Beautiful quirky hideaway, immaculate and a credit to the owners. Bed was super comfortable, everything you need for a relaxing stay. Even provided new laid eggs for breakfast. I lost my key and had to disturb them for a replacement late at night, they were super nice about it. Would highly recommend for singles or couples wishing to take advantage of this beautiful area.

We loved our stay as it had 5 separate family bedrooms with showers and a large kitchen and family room with a piano. This created a great mix of both private and shared spaces for our extended family and children. The house was reminiscent of a tramping hut with a long porch to relax on and was basic whilst having all we needed. This created a real holiday feel. We loved that it was so walking/biking distance to the lake and walking and cycling trails. All the family would be happy to go back and a great time was had by all.

We enjoyed staying at James' spacious yet cosy house. The beds were comfy and everything was clean when we arrived. The games and toys were much appreciated by my kids. James was very quick to respond and helpful. Would be happy to stay again.

Loved every moment of our stay. The cabin was clean, spacious and conveniently located walking distance from everything. It is evident great thought went into designing the cabin and value was placed on even the smallest of features (my favourite being the bathroom mirror). The interior was gorgeous, cosy and smelt delicious. My partner was in awe of the architecture and functioning of the cabin. I would love to return in the cooler months as we could imagine no better place to stay in winter then Walnut on Russel!

We had a fantastic two night stay. The accomodation is fabulous with lots of personal touches and the garden and surrounding area absolutely stunning. We envy other guests that managed to stay for much longer. We would love to stay again. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

A perfect place for two guys with mountain bikes. Very central, MTB tracks close by. Numerous Aviation movements made the experience of living at the air field memorable. Plenty of space to have, conversations with other guests staying in their cabins. Nigel has a wealth of local knowledge to share.

A very luxury feeling cabin, well equipped with everything we needed. The cabin was more spacious than we expected and well furnished. Nice outside decking area to enjoy breakfast in the rocking chairs 😊 Perfectly located within walking distance to the town. Easy flexible check-in.

Adam and Ceri are lovely hosts, we really enjoyed chatting to them. Their place is pretty remote, tucked away at the end of a long country road, but the view from the cabin is amazing, just a few sheep and miles of fields and mountains!! We spent a super cosy night and would love to return

Was a perfect place to stay while completing the Otago Rail Trail. Located at the halfway point. Also very peaceful and clean would recommend.

Apartment is located in a very nice area with easy access for walking and Wanaka. Host was friendly and helpful. The apartment stayed nice and cool in hot weather, has convenient parking and is close to local amenities, such as store and laundrette.

Leisa’s place is incredibly clean and well-stocked. She is super friendly and helpful and even provided some food supply in the fridge, including some fresh eggs. Thank you for your generosity and for letting us stay in your cottage Leisa.
