Cabin vacation rentals in Central Otago District

Lovely neighbourhood, easy access to town and to the venue of the wedding we were visiting for. Exactly what we needed for a fly through visit. Thank you so much :)

The home was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. Catherine was an outstanding host. We loved our stay and highly recommend to anyone who loves something with some awesome differences. A must see and stay. Alex is a fantastic town. The local blossom festival was on in the town which had a lot to offer our whole group. Thanks a bunch.

We had a wonderful time in the rustic cabin at Nancy’s. A highlight was enjoying the gas-fired hot tub under the stars and we highly recommend making use of this option if you can! One of Nancy’s assistants, Tina, was a joy to meet, making us feel at home right away and was incredibly kind going out of her way to prepare the hot tub for us at very late notice in the evening, thank you again Tina, much appreciated! In terms of other facilities, we also enjoyed having all the equipment required to make ourselves a home-cooked meal, a lovely comfy bed & hot shower-we had everything we needed for our short 1 night stay. The night we stayed there were only 2 dogs at the home stay and they were both friendly, calm and very well behaved.

This was the best AirBnB experience we ever had! This cosy cabin ist just the nicest place! Super cosy, beautifully equipped, the view is stunning and it’s just so surreal! We had an awesome time and could have stayed forever!!

they were very nice. even loaned me a chefs knife and some oil. let us pick some fruit from the trees. would recomend.

Absolutely loved my stay at Jillian's. The cottage was so beautiful and cozy with the fire going. Jillian really went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable and relaxing, with comfy bedding, freshly baked bread and plenty of fire wood for the fire. Thank you so much for hosting me, couldn't recommend a place more. Would love to come back and visit in the future.

The cabin is absolutely charming - cozy, beautifully decorated, and nestled in the perfect spot for a peaceful retreat. We had everything we needed and more, with thoughtful touches throughout that made the experience feel special. The surrounding area is stunning, and we really appreciated how Suzie and her husband took the time to share local recommendations for exploring the area. They are truly kind and caring hosts, and it’s clear that they take great pride in creating a warm and inviting space for their guests. We loved our stay as it had 5 separate family bedrooms with showers and a large kitchen and family room with a piano. This created a great mix of both private and shared spaces for our extended family and children. The house was reminiscent of a tramping hut with a long porch to relax on and was basic whilst having all we needed. This created a real holiday feel. We loved that it was so walking/biking distance to the lake and walking and cycling trails. All the family would be happy to go back and a great time was had by all.

This is a great place to stay within walking distance to the lake and shops. A large, clean house with everything you need suitable for a large family.

Loved every moment of our stay. The cabin was clean, spacious and conveniently located walking distance from everything. It is evident great thought went into designing the cabin and value was placed on even the smallest of features (my favourite being the bathroom mirror). The interior was gorgeous, cosy and smelt delicious. My partner was in awe of the architecture and functioning of the cabin. I would love to return in the cooler months as we could imagine no better place to stay in winter then Walnut on Russel!

We had a fantastic two night stay. The accomodation is fabulous with lots of personal touches and the garden and surrounding area absolutely stunning. We envy other guests that managed to stay for much longer. We would love to stay again. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

Our family has stayed in Alexandra for many years but we didn’t know about the aerodrome. Lovely views, easy to get to and quiet apart from the odd plane taking off and landing. Unit had everything we needed.

Very happy with our stay in the beautiful newly built cabin in the center of lovely Wanaka. Everything was great and we highly recommend this place and these hosts. Cheers!

Adam and Ceri are lovely hosts, we really enjoyed chatting to them. Their place is pretty remote, tucked away at the end of a long country road, but the view from the cabin is amazing, just a few sheep and miles of fields and mountains!! We spent a super cosy night and would love to return

Was a perfect place to stay while completing the Otago Rail Trail. Located at the halfway point. Also very peaceful and clean would recommend.

My parents absolutely LOVED staying at Nigel’s! They were sending me photos and videos of the planes / runway. Thank you for making it an enjoyable experience for them!
