Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Central Illinois

I used to live on Vandalia Lake, so I knew what to expect from the location - but the house is much nicer than pretty much anything else you'll find in Vandalia. It was the perfect place to spend the weekend while celebrating my granny's 82nd, and it's very likely we'll rent it again in the future, assuming it remains available for that purpose. The main living/kitchen/dining area is wide open and great for hanging out without feeling cramped, and the screened balcony/patio is a lovely place to enjoy the outdoors without being forced to "enjoy" the bugs. Everything is light, airy, modern, and well-maintained. This isn't one of those listings where the photos look great and the reality is worn and dirty - what you see is what you get.

Enjoyed every minute of our stay. House was clean, cozy and exactly as described. Amy and her family were wonderful to communicate with. Went above and beyond to make us feel at home!

Jerry’s home was perfect for our group of 10 adults in town for a concert at Effingham Performance Center. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, baking sheets and all of the utensils you could need. We cooked a full dinner and breakfast for 10 while there. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of seating in the common spaces and the sun porch was a a nice are for a smaller group. Jerry was very accommodating and provided clear directions and labels for all things related to the house. Our whole group loved our stay at Jerry’s place and felt it was a tremendous value!

We stayed for 5 days to see my sister and let me tell you way worth it. We really enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely be back. Stephen was very responsive and teneded to all our needs. 5 star for sure

We had a great weekend at Monica’s! The house was beautiful and the location was great - so close to the park and the lake. We would definitely stay here again!

Our stay here was great! Dzenad was very responsive with any questions I had. It is so peaceful with the river practically in the backyard. I DEFINITELY recommend staying there if you get the chance.

Nice space with lots of extra room

This place was very cute and perfect for me and my 2 friends. Emily was great at providing instructions and responding to questions.

I’ve stayed twice so far while traveling for work. It’s a very comfortable space, clean, private and quiet neighborhood. Equipped nicely with whatever you need. I really enjoyed staying here, would definitely recommend.

Impeccably clean loft-style space in a cute and walkable neighborhood. Hosts were VERY quick and helpful to respond when one issue (not their fault) came up. Would stay here again!

Loft was as described. Worked well for our extended family. The loft is spacious and kitchen amenities were more than adequate. The patio was under renovation during our stay, so not available.

So lovely. Felt fancy and comfortable. I liked the neighborhood and the space. They thought of all kinds of little comforts. I will say if you have mobility issues, this would be a tough spot. Lugging stuff up the old, narrow, winding stairs was little challenging for this over 50 chick and would be harder for someone who really struggles with mobility.

Much larger place than we thought. Perfect for work. Great place to stay.

Great spot to go with friends and family. They have a water park, arcade, mini golf, and an ice cream place. We had a fun time at this resort and would definitely do it again!

Beautiful, spacious home. Had the amenities that were listed. Will need to bring shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and extra rolls of toilet paper, and this is listed in the details. The home was spotless and welcoming for our executive team retreat. How to instructions were provided and worked perfectly. Grateful for this opportunity to share dedicated time with my team in a space that allowed everyone to have personal space even when sharing a room. The bedrooms are enormous and lovely.

We enjoyed our staying at Tom”s place. We arrived a bit early and we were allowed to check in earlier. That was nice! Much space, big bedrooms. Equipped with everything we needed including the First Aid Kit. We visited this area for hiking. And the location is just great -3 wonderful parks near by. I think it should be also great to stay at Tom s place in winter. It has a nice fireplace. Thank you!

Beautiful house with a very friendly host. Yan is generous about me using kitchen ingredients and I felt very at home
