Vacation rentals in Buckingham County

Sitting on the back porch was very relaxing. It was very quiet, only a rare passing car (like twice in two days) and distant train sound once in a while. Other than that just the sound of birds and squirrels. The walking trails are lots of fun and I enjoyed looking for quartz on the trails. We saw a possum and a pileated woodpecker. Ate dinner at Indian Oven, 20 minutes away and very tasty. Cooked other meals at the cabin, it was stocked with everything we needed. Bed was comfy, shower was great, just a wonderful place to unwind.

This is a beautiful suite in beautiful Nelson County a few miles from where I grew up. My stay at the La-De-Da was restful and rejuvenative; the place was small but carefully laid out, everything felt clean and cared for, and I had no issues with Cindy and Peter. I meant to keep to myself, and I did, but when issues arose Cindy was quick to respond. I happened to have some rough weather when I traveled, and while I have no issues with the place itself, it's worth pointing out that this location is indeed remote. Returning one night I had to navigate around roads blocked by fallen trees and flooded streams in areas with no cell reception whatsoever. The directions say to make sure you have gas in your tank. That's no joke.

Lovely place with nice artwork. Worked well for my wife and myself. It is secluded--which has pluses and minuses. Charlottesville is about 35 minutes away. Lots of breweries/meaderies/vineyards within easy driving distance.

Prishanti was an amazing host! She was extremely friendly and welcoming, and made me feel at home. The place was so beautiful. I wanted to have a weekend to escape and unwind and my goals were accomplished! The view was stunning. It was so quiet and peaceful. There was nearby hiking that I was able to take my dogs. The accommodations were very clean. The best part was just sitting out on the deck as the sun went down drinking a glass of wine with my dogs. The weekend was perfect.

Great private wooded location with extra character. Loved the windows and great accommodations including towels, sheets, ect. Hosts were very responsive and professional. There are plenty of unique stays but this one is great for you and your pet! We brought our husky and they even put out a water and food bowl for her! Would definitely come back again!

Mitch has a great, clean spot. We were thankful to be able to book this quiet escape from the city to relax outside for the weekend with our elderly German Shepherd. Also enjoyed the hot tub and the gas grill!

There's so much to say about our stay at HeartRock! You instantly feel at peace when you arrive, and can feel how much love has been poured into this space. Everything about HearRock makes you feel relaxed and ready to connect with your loved ones. We stayed here for a friend's weekend and immediately felt at home. The kitchen is perfect for sharing meaningful meals, the porch is cozy for hanging out, and the grounds are beautiful to explore. We cannot say enough positive things about HeartRock - it is truly a gem and we cannot wait to return.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I felt right at home here. The lake is beautiful and had a good time fishing there. Highly recommend!

The Retreat at Laurel was absolutely incredible. We came in for the 151 breweries and loved the location, about 20 min away and didn’t have to go up the mountain into wintergreen area. The drive in was peaceful and easy to drive (no big hills to go up or down). The cabin itself was vintagely decorated but had all the amenities necessary and more, including a towel warmer and sound machines. The best part was the fenced in backyard. The Retreat at Laurel accepted dogs and welcomed them at no extra fee, which for Airbnb standards is insane. Shower water pressure was great and the tub was clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast. There were plenty of extra blankets if needed. The living room was kinda small with a couch and a rocker, but this was no issue as there are other places to be, like the front porch with a swing, rockers, and table. Check in and out was easy and the instructions. I have already recommended this place to my family and hope to visit agai
