The views of water and private beach access were wonderful! The cottage is just as the pictures show and home as great appliances with everything labeled. It’s fully equipped for a long weekend stay. The hosts were also wonderfully accommodating and exceptionally responsive! The spiral stairs to the main bedroom upstairs are a charming feature, but might be a consideration for some as they were narrow and steep. Overall, a wonderful place to stay!

We had the most amazing time at Will’s home. It’s exactly as described. The home is so cozy and has everything you could ever need. We cooked in and went to a few of his recommended restaurants. Will was extremely responsive from booking to departure. We hope to stay again. Perfect location and the hot tub and deck are fabulous!

Tom is a super friendly host with a lovely home. We really enjoyed the views from the cabin and the deck amenities (hot tub, string lights, grill). The porch right inside had a great sitting area and view of the lake during the day. This was also very close to a number of things, including Ann Arbor, which was really convenient.

The place was super clean and fully stocked with basic necessities in the kitchen and bathroom. Hot tub was clean and very relaxing. My partner and I celebrated an anniversary here and enjoyed our stay. Would definitely book again. The only complaint we have is that the beds are hard, and hurt our backs. Besides that, I recommend! We appreciate the fact that the hosts allowed us to book over new years!

Booked this lakefront home for a work retreat. The bnb was lovely and comfortable, with all we needed to cook, relax, and decompress. The hot tu was wonderful, and the provided robes, slippers and beach towels were a nice touch. Sara was communicative and proactively shared instructions that helped us settle in and check out easefully. One minor issue we had was that several of our folks struggled to find the address as they were arriving in the dark, but we figured it out quickly. Sara was even so kind as to extend our check-out time a bit, as we had a little more work to finish up.

Eddie greeted us warmly and showed us how the house worked. I was there for a dog show it was absolutely perfect for that! Everything we needed was right there and it felt a very safe comfortable dog friendly area!

Where do we even begin? From the moment we arrived, it felt like staying with long-lost relatives who actually like you. The place was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with thoughtful touches that screamed, ‘We’re overachievers, but in a good way.’ The hosts went above and beyond in ways that felt almost suspicious. We opened the fridge to find bubbly waiting for us (are we royalty now?), and there were chocolates on the counter like they somehow knew our love language. As if that wasn’t enough, we spent an unforgettable evening soaking in the hot tub while it snowed, overlooking the most serene lake view we’ve ever seen. It was like being in a Hallmark movie but without the small-town drama. Every detail was so thoughtful, from the cozy blankets to the recommendations that made us feel like locals. This wasn’t just a stay; it was an experience we’ll be talking about for years. If you’re considering booking, do it. Just don’t book the weekend we want to come back, okay?

Lori and her husband Rick were fabulous, My friends and I absolutely loved them! We highly recommend this cute cottage by the lake. The house smelled amazing! No chemicals just a wonderful beautiful scent that made me smile. The warm fire roaring at night while drinking a cup of hot tea and the beautiful view of the lake was a wonderful way to start my healing journey. Everything is neat and labeled for you and she goes above and beyond to really make sure that you are happy. We had quite the snow storm while hunkered in and Rick cleared the walkway, drive way and stopped in to get our trash. They live right next door which was great incase we needed anything but still had complete privacy :) Location is great and you’re not far from stores, restaraunt, etc. I highly recommend, you will feel like you are visiting family.

Enjoyed our stay at this cute cottage. Megan was very pleasant and whenever we had any questions she responded quickly.

Julie was so amazing and their place was extremely pet friendly! I really appreciated the extra effort they put into making sure even my dog had a wonderful stay. Would definitely come back as soon as I get the chance!!

We wanted a peaceful, relaxing and fun Fall getaway and that’s exactly what we got! The Cottage was everything we asked for- simple and cozy! The sunrise over the lake was gorgeous, coffee on deck started the days nicely and warm fires ended the nights!

Amazing place! Even better than expected! Although it says no AC, they have a little AC unit next to the couch and it makes the whole place so cool! We brought fans and didn't even need to use them. The view was absolutely beautiful. The sunsets on the water were truly breathtaking. I also wanted to mention how I love that we were able to spend it with our puppy, kind of rare to find a nice waterfront like this that allows animals! We will definitely be back next summer.

Charles’s place is our home away from home while visiting our family in the area. We love the quiet, peaceful area, & the goats are always fun to spend time with. We feel right at home in the house, which is stocked with everything we need. We look forward to our next trip up!

This was the second time we've stayed at the Golden Retreat cottage, and it won't be the last. It was the perfect place for our family of six to stay during the Hillsdale College's family weekends. The house goes above and beyond providing all the details, a beautiful view, a cozy atmosphere, comfortable beds and pillows, quality furniture, and all the kitchen supplies you need. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the selection of games provided, the living room set-up for talking and laughing together, and the morning room which I used for my workspace and morning coffee! Very easy to check in. I thought the house had across the street lake access, It did not. A lot of kitchen appliances, not a lot of utensils to cook with. Coffee was provided with a keurig. Nice little cabin.

It is our second time staying. Always relaxing to stay here.

We had a wonderful week-long stay in this cozy home! Especially loved the kitchen, the heated tile of the bathroom floor, and the location! It’s a great little house!

Great little getaway place! We were in town for a dance competition but would definitely go back for a vacation in the summer! Any little request I had was happily, and easily met. Very easy and simple checkout instructions made the process very nice.

Host was very responsive and accommodating. Home was nice and comfortable for our family. We had everything we needed. Neighborhood was quiet and close to where we needed to be for the weekend.

Wonderful hosts!! Perfect location for access to tranquility of the lake, hustle and bustle of Ann Arbor, and an easy drive to Frakenmuth for the holiday store! The cottage was cozy and perfect for our family with a 2 and 4 year old. The hosts had toys and books to entertain our littles and the space was perfect for us to simply relax as a family. The hosts also went out of there way to offer toddler amenities so we didn’t have to bring extra since they have toddlers as well! In addition, the water filter system broke before we got there and they provided water for our family! Absolutely wonderful hosts and I would highly recommend them to anyone. We will definitely look into staying there again if we find ourselves in the area!

Iwona’s cottage was the perfect getaway. We rented her place to celebrate my best friend’s birthday as we were planning on spending the Sunday visiting wineries in the local area. Overall, the accommodations were good and everything that we required however, the external could definitely use a couple more lights just to illuminate the front to make finding the driveway easier at night. As we had left to go for dinner and upon returning had some difficulty seeing the drive way. There were also some notable marks upon check-in on the one wall by the garbage can. However, nothing that took away from the cottage or our experience. Would be lovely in the summer as there was a private access to the beach dried fly in front of the backyard. The bathroom and kitchen were newly renovated. Quick and easy communication.

Very nice place to stay for the weekend. Love being on the lake with plenty to do. Nice home with everything you’d need.
