Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Bocas del Toro District

Easily the nicest, kindest, most gracious hosts I've had on AirBnB, also the first bed and breakfast I've stayed at on the app. Fantastic breakfast and a great time all around. Also walkable to Bocas town easily

Stayed here for a few days and the location/room was great! Close enough to other areas you'll want to visit and quiet for calm nights.

If you are looking for a quiet area where you can enjoy nature and the beach is your place. The hotel had all the facilities you could need, the food is rich and Nahuel made great cocktails. To get there, you have all the facilities, by public transport or by taxi, with a taxi that makes it easy for you to number.

The Firefly is a very lovely place. It has a surfers vibe with a yoga platform and beautiful deck, right on the water, surrounded by tropical plants. No real beach & water too rough to swim in when we were there. But refreshing small pool, never crowded, as it is adults only & just 5 rooms. We stayed in the ‘Air’ casita. Lots of stairs to get up there, but you are rewarded w/ beautiful view, lovely breezes (no insects because of this!) & plenty of privacy. Food was a highlight. For just $35 +drinks, you get a spectacular 4 course ‘Island’ themed meal. Local & fresh and absolutely delicious! Things to know: -They are CASH ONLY, once you arrive. (No ATM in Basti town, but a few in Bocas town). -Pack light! (We did NOT). It is just a short walk from the dock, but there are stairs & a beach to cross. -Old Bank is a locals town, not a resort town. There are just a few restaurants & locals are friendly, but are living their lives, not catering to tourists. -Ryan & staff were amazing!

Firefly is a really cute place to stay on Bastimentos island! If not for the rooms, be sure to try at least the food: it was nothing short of amazing! And breakfast is included too, and those didn't disappoint! We were greatly welcomed with drinks and recommendations as well. The room is typical of Bocas: water from rainwater, no A/C but fans (the room is near the ocean so there's fresh air, works pretty well), basic bathroom. Nothing fancy but it's functional and part of the island's charm. The only downside we found was that although it's facing the ocean (beautiful view and sunsets!), there isn't a beach nor places to really swim (water is accessible but it isn't easy). For a sand beach you'll have to walk to town and do a short hike (about 30mn total from Firefly). We recommend the place for sure !

The property is built to high quality and has a great view of the sea as well as Bird Island. The sun loungers and chairs on the terrace invite you to relax. The room was clean and had plenty of storage space. The fan in the room ensured pleasant air circulation at night. The property's restaurant deserves special mention. The food was of the highest quality and the cocktails of the bar were delicious! The friendly and helpful team was always on hand. Their warm hospitality contributed significantly to the fact that I felt very comfortable here. The Wi-Fi availability was sufficient, but the transmission capacity due to the Starlink connection was sometimes greatly limited. Overall, my stay at this place was outstanding and I would recommend it to anyone. If you are looking for a place to escape it all while enjoying nature, then this is the place for you!

We spent only two nights in La Luciérnaga, but we would have wanted it to be many more. One of the best places I've stayed in-clean, beautiful, comfortable, and with warm and attentive hosts to the well-being of their guests. Carlo and his family are attentive and polite, excellent people. The room is just as you can see in the photos, the bathroom has a nice shower and with a refreshing and invigorating flow. The bed is super comfortable and sleeps lulled by the sounds of nature. Kitchen area is complete and comfortable and the terrace space with hammocks is relaxing. The wifi is great. Although it is about 4 km away from the center of Bocas, it is easy to get around by taxi or walk a little to take the public minibus. It is halfway to Playa Bluff and La Piscina and close to where you can take the mic to go to Playa de Las Estrellas. And the cherry on the cake: breakfast. Just delicious. Homemade food with details from Italy. Highly recommended! <3

Very nice and helpful hosts. Easy to go by taxi to Bocas town

Our family of 4 had an amazing vacation at La Luciernaga. The room was spotless and comfortable. Carlo was always available if we had any questions or needed advice. The location was perfect for us as it's peaceful but not too far from Bocas town (which is currently under major construction so we were happy to return to our Airbnb!), and walking distance to some nice restaurants, as well as Skully's where you can rent ATVs or bikes. Carlo and his wife take very good care of their guests and we felt right at home while we were there.

Wonderful 4 day stay at Sally and Mike's. If the house and surroundings are beyond gorgeous, the attentiveness and warmth of the hosts are top notch. Felt at home right away. Hosts are very proactive and will share their recommendations for a perfect stay, from day excursions to taxis, beaches, or restaurants with daily specials. Very comfortable room, extremely clean, quiet and private. Great attention to detail. Delicious breakfasts and wonderful atmosphere with the other guests. Very clean water in the bay allowed for morning or afternoon swims, kayaking or simply floating away on water beds right from the deck. Transportation to Bocas town or other beaches on the island is quick and cheap (3 min walk to main road, $1-$2 per person to town by public bus or taxi). Water taxis are also an option and will bring you back straight to the house dock after dinner at local restaurants. What else can you need for a perfect relaxing vacation? Highly recommended. We will be back. Thank you!

We've used Airbnb extensively, but our stay with Sally and Mike was top-notch, easily in our top three experiences. It was sad to leave their lovely place, complete with adorable cats. Our room and the shared spaces were perfect, and evenings on the porch overlooking the water were pure magic. Sally and Mike anticipate every need, making every detail count—from the comfortable bed to the thoughtful amenities. They're not just great hosts but also caring people who look out for their community and environment. They offered fantastic tips and the use of their kayak and other gear. Mike's breakfasts were a delight. Truly, our stay was nothing short of fantastic. We deeply miss them and their wonderful home. Best, Jenny and Jan
