Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Blue Ridge Mountains

We had a wonderful stay at this “Slow Pace” Airbnb with our children and two dogs! The home was comfortable and inviting, with a fantastic backyard that we all enjoyed. The living room was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, and the location couldn’t have been better—we loved being able to walk downtown and appreciated the easy access to Montreat. Another great perk was the nearby mom-and-pop convenience store, where we could easily pick up extra drinks and snacks. It was close enough that the kids could even walk over by themselves, which was a nice bonus! The hosts were thoughtful in every detail, from providing plenty of coffee for our entire stay to the extra special touch of a bottle of wine waiting for us on our first night. We would absolutely stay here again!

Erin was a great host! She was very communicative throughout our stay. We got in late at night and all the lights were on, with fresh eggs and bread waiting for us. Such a nice touch. Her place was very clean and comfortable. She had tons of toys in the spare room, which our daughter loved. The front porch is so charming with all the flowers in bloom. Great place for all of us to stay for family wedding in the area, conveniently located to the various venues, not to mention all the restaurants, groceries, etc nearby-- we even walked to Le Peep for a great weekend breakfast! Especially appreciated the three bathrooms (& plentiful towels!) when everyone was getting ready, & the walk-in closet in the one bedroom was a perfect spot for our little one's pack & play! It was a tad chilly upon arrival (so much rain that weekend!) and when I couldn't quite figure out the Google Nest thermostat, Peter was quick to respond with clear directions & follow-up. It's so much nicer to have family together vs separate hotel rooms and I felt this was a great value for the weekend-- we'd be happy to return!

We enjoyed our stay. Great location between Ark and Creation Museum. We had 6 people and had plenty of space. Our family loved the assortment of games. Play area would have been wonderful for younger kiddos.

We had a great stay for a couples get away celebrating several birthdays! The house was clean, comfy beds, and plenty of space to gather and hang with friends. The location was convenient with a quiet, safe neighborhood. Thank you for hosting!

Cheryl was there to greet us and made us feel so welcome. The apartment was very spacious, clean, and had everything we could have possibly needed. Highly recommend if staying in the area.

We got in late! the place is a lower level/basement walk out apartment in a quiet neighborhood not far from the highway. It was easy to find and check in. We appreciated fruit, snacks, water and juice left for us. The living room is large with lots of places to sit so we had our own couches and took turns playing pinball. the kitchen was well stocked and easy to cook meals. We were comfortable in the bedrooms with lots of blankets and pillows. The bathroom was nice too with plenty of soap and shampoos. We had a flight delay and needed to stay an extra night. I was able to communicate with Debbie quickly and she was so kind. Thank you

carrie's place is very inviting and clean, also peaceful, you will hear the dog occasionally but didn't bother us, bed is comfy , bathroom is big, loved the hot hair fan. it has everything we needed.

Everything was great at David’s place! My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was cozy and clean and felt very homey which is hard to find in a lot of bnb’s. If we’re ever in the area again we’ll definitely be booking with him again, can’t recommend this place enough!

This was our first ever stay at an airbnb, though we are hosts, ourselves. It didn’t disappoint, as the space is really nice with comfortable furniture. Sadly, those awesome looking recliners were not working at the moment, but are probably fixed by now. The children with us loved the pool! Everything was just as shown in the photos! April was an awesome host, accommodating some special requests we had.

The property is great - perfect for a couple visiting Durham. The old Pearl Mill condos form a very pleasant little community. People are friendly, the landscaping is pretty (we got a nice early dose of spring!), and the location can’t be beat.

Easy process, great location near everything, and lovely, large space. Fit our family of 4 perfectly. Would definitely stay again!

10/10 stay with no complaints. Great location, great condo, and great host. It was perfect for our weekend getaway, and super close to everything. Condo was clean and just as pictured, super quiet once inside and the bed was pretty comfortable which was an added bonus! We will be back!

This place was perfect for me and my friends! It’s exactly what you’d expect with some extras that Lisa graciously provided for us, from toiletries like the usual shampoo and conditioner to things you might forget like toothbrushes and toothpaste, and even snacks including chips and chocolates and other candy. The location is hard to beat as well, walking distance to a crepe shop we had breakfast at, and steps away from the beautiful lake and all of its scenery. Would highly recommend!

Anna’s place was the perfect size and location for 2 adults and 3 kids. The triple bunk beds are fun and cute. The place was fully stocked with everything we needed and more. The kids loved all the board games and the 2 hot tubs right outside our door! It was also super easy and convenient to walk down to the Soaring Eagle lift and get right on the slopes. Highly recommend!

We stayed with our 4 young boys and my parents. It was a great size for all 8 of us. The drive up can be a little “scary” if you aren’t familiar driving up a mountain. However, drive it down to town and up again just once and you become an expert quick. The condo is quiet area. The screened porch was perfect for the rainy days and still enjoy “nature”. The kids loved being on the porch watching for bears. The location is a very quick and easy drive into town or into the National Park, without having to be around the noise of downtown. It’s nice to go down, do what we want, then go back up to the quiet and “unwind”. We recommend bringing your own pillows. They are a little flat. Otherwise, we found it easy to navigate the condo and the amenities were all convenient to have. Would love to stay again for the location and the price!

Such a beautiful place to stay both inside and out! The condo was very clean, beautifully decorated, and inviting; we felt right at home. The view from the balcony was gorgeous and we absolutely loved the location. It was quiet but close to everything. James was a great host and if we ever get back to the area, we’d definitely stay here again!
