Vacation rentals in Balemore

We had a wonderful time on the island of Scalpay (Harris). The house is fabulous! It's beautifully decorated, has everything you need and is spotlessly clean. It was a really cosy and comfortable place to spend time in a beautiful quiet location but just a short drive to Tarbert for things you might need. The situation of the house is spectacular and the whole of Lewis and Harris are outstanding places of natural beauty to explore. Mary Jane and Ian could not have been more helpful with information before we arrived and during the stay. They went above and beyond in helping us when we had some ferry issues which meant we had to extend our stay, they were great hosts!

I arrived on a windy and rainy day and initially felt a bit hesitant about staying in a caravan, but this experience far exceeded my expectations! The caravan had a beautiful view, and the interior was cozy and warm, even with the rough weather outside. The internet connection was surprisingly fast and reliable, hot water was available whenever I needed it, and the gas oven worked perfectly. Everything was excellent, with just a minor issue, the towels had a slight smell of humidity. However, I always bring my own towels, so it wasn’t a problem for me. What truly stood out was the hospitality of the owner, who personally visited the caravan to check if I needed anything, which I really appreciated. Overall, I was very happy with my stay and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

Karen's cottage is in a beautiful location, very cosy and comfy. Kitchen very well equipped. Lovely views from the cottage. Very well-stocked village shop 5 mins walk away. Very close to Neist Point which is one of our favourite spots on Skye. Thanks for a wonderful week.

Morag's place surpassed our expectations. It is beautifully appointed, warm and cozy, and all the little extra treats were greatly appreciated. The beds were very comfortable - the king in the bedroom as well as the single conversion in the living area. We especially loved the little deck overlooking the lush countryside. It was also really great to just 'walk right in' - no codes or lock-boxes. A very special find. Highly recommended.

Beautifully decorated and well appointed home. Great location - 5 min walk from the co-op, 15 mins walk to the centre of Castlebay. We stayed with our two young kids and their grandparents. Everyone was comfortable, there were appropriately designed bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate all ages. The house was warm throughout and features a comfy living room, big dining table - and a bright and welcoming kitchen with a nice, smaller table for breakfast. Definitely hope to stay here again and happily recommend.

Beautiful location, very remote for what we were use to so be prepared to get essentials before you get there or be ready to travel a bit. Communication with the host was great, and the little extras of the house added to a wonderful stay. Thank you!

The house is stunning set in beautiful surroundings. All of the bedrooms were lovely and very comfortable, I spent the mornings watching seals out in the bay from the front room with a cup of tea - you can’t get much better than that! The views across the bay and towards the mountains in the evenings were fantastic. The house has everything I needed and more, a real ‘home from home’ experience. A great stay and I will absolutely be returning.
