Vacation rentals in Assares

The place was amazing. The surrounding was beautiful full of trees and life. All the animals on the farm are so sweet. It is so nice to take a walk around and pet the animals. We came there in February which was a bit colder. Rolando made sure we always had wood for the fireplace. We were very warm welcomed by Rolando, Dulce and the dogs. During our stay Rolando and Dulce made sure we felt welcome and that we had all we needed. Near the farm there is a small grocery store and a cafe which were lovely. Dulce made us soups. The stay was lovely. Dulce and Rolando are great and kind people. We would love to come again.

We had a fabulous stay in the Douro Valley. Jesse’s home was perfect for us. The heaters worked beautifully and we even lit a fire on the cold evenings. The views were like a dream. The driveway was a little intimidating the first few times, but we got used to it pretty quickly. We decided to drive up about 1/4 mile and turn around in a parking lot instead of trying to do a 3 point turn on the street. Once we figured that out, we were fine!

My family and I had a lovely time at Quinta do Vale da Ermida. Very quiet and peaceful location with a stunning view, especially from the pool. Very spacious and equipped with all the amenities we required for our stay. Last but not least, Catarina was always very responsive, helpful, and proactive in her communication with us. Would definitely recommend!

To start the house was excellent, fantastic view, very clean house, fully equipped kitchen. The house exceeded my expectations. Margarida was fantastic, always answered my doubts, before we arrived had a list of places to visit and restaurants, the arrival explained everything at home. It was three fantastic days, we love to meet Margarida, very nice and very dear. No doubt I will contact her again when I return to Gerês.

Carlos house is beautiful, with a breathtaking view of the mountains and river, just perfect to enjoy the sunset. You can find supermarkets just 15 minutes away by car that will have everything you need. We really enjoyed our stay there, including my dog - the property is really big. The area is quiet, which makes it the perfect place to rest, but also the perfect "base" to come back to after a whole day exploring Gerês. Would love to go back during summer to enjoy the pool as well!

Enjoyed a peaceful stay in Esphinhosa. The house is very inviting with plenty of room. Views are amazing with the vineyards across the lane. Virtually no traffic since it is the 2nd last place on the road. A leisurely 5-minute stroll to the little hamlet of Esphinhosa. There's a very small coffee bar & grocery store in town. It has the very basics to get you through. If you plan to make your own meals in the well-equipped kitchen, remember to purchase your groceries on the way. For large luggage, you will want to access the 2nd floor from the back door up the hill rather than using the spiral stairs. Also, Google Maps took us straight through Espinhosa. To squeeze through the houses where R.Direita meets R.dos Valados, we had to fold up the mirrors on our Dacia Duster with likely only 1/2" to spare on either side. Make sure to use Rua Cimo do Povo and follow the signs for Valado Houses. Good local food at Restaurante Pesqueirense in São João da Pesqueir.

A perfect stay for couples 🥰

We received a warm welcome. The apartment was very clean and the living area was stylishly decorated. The view over the lake was stunning, as was the surrounding countryside. As road cyclists, we really loved the area. The pool was great for post-ride sunny ice baths (in September!). 😉
