Jungle cabin with forest view & kitchen, 1'

PatrickRating, 5 stars1 month ago
very beautiful place in the middle of lush vegetation. Samuel is very attentive to us. at each sea trip, we had someone accompanying us until the boat arrived. it took away a lot of stress from us.! our dinners were very good only criticism concerns the wooden chairs on our terrace which were very uncomfortable and bothered us to take full advantage of our terrace. in short: beautiful place far from the world.....

Great place to stay. The accommodation is comfortable, close to a quiet beach and has a communal dining room with lovely food. Plus there is wildlife to spot on your doorstep. Highly recommend staying here instead of Drake Bay.

Golfo Dulce Waterfront Cabin

NicolaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Magical spot right on the water. With the help of Google translate Cholo brought us fans on request and helped us organise kayaks which we'd highly recommend - we went for a beautiful afternoon kayak & took it out again for a quick spin in the night to see the bioluminescent plankton (we were lucky to have a dark night). The place is rustic so pack your bug spray & note only cold showers. But the bed nets were a good reprive for sleeping. It's so beautiful, we saw macaws & toucans from the stoop & a bat flew right into the house! & the kitchen was well equipped (stove top only).

If you’re looking for a secluded place to get away from the stress of everyday life this is the place to do it. Michaele was very helpful with setting up tours, getting transportation to the airport, etc.. Highly recommend this place!

Big Banana House stunning ocean views close to all

RobertRating, 5 stars2 months ago
The best place to stay in Drake hands down enjoy the soccer field below the house as the local kids were playing overlooking the ocean watching the boats come and go enjoy the hammock on the porch. Really nice bathroom would definitely recommend.

Cabinas yafeth next to the beach Drake bay

Jeffrey SRating, 5 stars60 months ago
Christian and his wife provided a very comfortable and enjoyable experience during our stay with them in Drakes Bay. From the Boat pick up to the food and room accommodations, all were beyond our expectations. We would definitely stay at Cabina Yaseth again. Pura Vida!

Casa Azul, beach house with A/C wifi and pool

NicoleRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We booked this house twice during our visit to CR for routing purposes and Giovanni and Tracey could not have been more accommodating. We were so much more comfortable during our transitions in and out of this house. If you’re on the fence, book it! This place is awesome!

Oceanfront Oasis: beach, private pool, AC & jungle

HelenaRating, 5 stars2 days ago
This place is the definition of Pura Vida!!! We had an absolutely incredible stay at Sarah's place in Playa Zancudo! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at home. Sarah is an absolute angel. She went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially since we were celebrating my birthday and our honeymoon. The accommodations were comfortable and beautifully decorated, and the location was perfect for enjoying the beach, pool and wildlife. We also had the pleasure of meeting some amazing people during our stay, which made the experience even more memorable. We highly recommend Luna Del Mar to anyone looking to experience the real Costa Rica. Thank you, Sarah, for making our trip so unforgettable! We will be back.

Panoramic Ocean Views & Pool - Villas Azul #2A

PriyaRating, 5 stars2 months ago
We recently stayed at Villa Azul at the end of December for 4 nights. The location was great and close to town, yet very quite and peaceful. The access to the private beach was wonderful and a luxury for sure! it was a 5 min walk from our room! the views from the villa was amazing. We saw capuchin monkeys from our deck and scarlet macaws from the pool snacking on almonds. Amazing! This is completely on me as I did not see the floor plan closely enough in the listing, but I didn't realize that the two bedrooms don't have an interior connection. This was slightly inconvenient for us travelling with young children, but we made it work! just a heads up in case it helps anyone. Also, the interior could use some minor maintenance but nothing that prevented us from having an enjoyable stay! Pablo, the groundskeeper, and the cleaning lady were nice, and we appreciated the laundry service. Thanks to David and his team for making our stay memorable!

Blue Moon - Luxury Beach Villa

KatyRating, 5 stars8 months ago
Wonderful location. The main living area is open air and we really enjoyed that aspect. The three bedrooms each have their own bathroom and air conditioning which was perfect for sleeping. The area is green and we heard howler monkeys and saw lots of birds. The beach is a short walk down a path and beautiful and quite private. The house is off a main road and easy to find, within 10 mins to Uvita for restaurants and groceries. The pool was very refreshing. The only thing to note is that there is a second identical house right next door—you can hear the folks staying next door since both houses are open air. This would make it a really perfect set up for two families or several people who want to stay together but each have their own houses.

Uvita - Plaza Bahía Moana A2

MichaelRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
A nice place with a really beautiful pool, good WiFi and a/c, a nice deck with some views, kitchen that has most of what you need, bird songs in the morning. Late sleepers bring an eye mask as the curtains do not darken. Uvita is about as poorly of a planned community (there is no planning) as I have seen so good luck figuring out where to stay in this town. This place is wonderful…just know to get to the big grocery and bus station and what Uvitarians are building out as there own version of Santa Teresa’s awful strip mall you must walk on the highway with no shoulder and lots of traffic. Good thing the walk to the beach isn’t too bad for those that enjoy a good walk. Bring an umbrella with you..for the rain but also for the intense sun. Welcome to Uvita.

Steps to the Beach and Pool!

MicheleRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We have been here before, and will come again. We have now stayed in both casas and they are clean and cosy. Beds comfortable, A/C refreshing and the kitchen has all you need for making your own meals. We spent our afternoons by the pool which is covered so you can be out of the sun and still enjoy the heat of the day. Late afternoons in the ocean watching the turtles pop their heads up. Scarlett Mccaws, parrots, tanagers and many more birds every day. The sloth came by one day. We also saw Monkeys during our morning walks through the Palma tica field. Amazing area, home and Amanda and Jason are wonderful, welcoming hosts. We will be back.

Steps away from the ocean!

ChristinaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This is a very special house. The decor just made us happy...a unique blend of modern concrete floors and counter tops and handmade rustic furniture, gorgeous art work and even a little deco thrown in. The location is brilliant, you can see the water in the distance and there are meters and meters of lush green pasture between you and the road. There is a fabulous small pool which is perfect for cooling down in (very) warm uvita. Excellent air in all the bedrooms. The main room is not AC-d, but this was fine with us. Everything cools down a lot at night. There is a small nice sandy beach in the front (not great for swimming as there are rocks farther out) and Natalia will tell you about a secret beach that is about a 15 minute walk away that is spectacular. No one was there while we were there and the beach is huge and perfect for body surfing. Wonderful pizza at Pizza Time and great meals at Aricari and Gusto (but Gusto is tricky to get to without 2x4). Loved every minute!

CasaSusan BahíaDrake ParqueCorcovado Familia Amaya

BrandiRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Susan and Carlos were excellent hosts. Carlos was super friendly and showed us the fruit trees around the house, how to work everything in the house and how to get to the beach, restaurant and bar. He really made us feel welcomed and at home. There is AC in all the bedrooms which we really enjoyed because we are from WI and sometimes we just needed to retreat to the bedroom to cool off or we would just jump in the ocean. We spent a lot of our time on the deck. You can watch the parrots and macaws fly inn at Sun up and watch them flying at sundown as well. There are white faced monkeys living in the trees to the left. You can watch them swinging from the trees while you watch the beautiful sunset at the end of the day. There is an awesome hiking trail close by which we saw hawks, a white nosed coati and a large group of peccaries. The beach usually doesn’t have a lot of people on it so you kinda feel like you have it to yourself. If you enjoy tranquility and nature than this is it.

Spacious bungalow 1' walk to the beach, Drake Bay

LeslieRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had some trouble locating/accessing Samuel’s place due to the fact that we drove and instructions were unclear. And even though we knew there were rivers to cross, it had rained that day and it was WAY scarier than we expected! Beyond that, Samuels place was great. We loved the accessibility to the beach which was AMAZING and almost always empty! It was unbelievably gorgeous and catching the boats to our tours from the beach was awesome! The restaurant on site is the only option for food due to the remote location. The food was very good and reasonably priced ($12 per meal). You just pay at the end before checking out, very convenient. Samuel was quick to respond to anything we needed and help us solve a couple issues!

Private Beachfront Rancho & Reserve

TamarRating, 5 stars1 week ago
This was a unique and wonderful get-away. Even the trip by boat to the isolated location was fun. We had the beach and jungle all to ourselves- heavenly! We enjoyed exploring the coast by kayak, snorkeling around a rocky point and discovering strange plants inside the mangroves. The cabin is rustic and beautiful.

Tapirus Playa ,the best view !

MelanieRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We really enjoyed our stay at Tapirus Playa - Vincent was a very responsive and helpful host, the view is really as beautiful as the photos, and the location is perfect. A few notes from our experience which may assist others: - Google maps is not entirely accurate in the town. It will generally send you to the right area, but you'll want to rely on good old fashioned "looking around" once you get there. - Water in town is not recommended to drink - you can easily purchase jugs of water at the local stores, or bring some with you. - Infrastructure in town is a bit of a work in progress. During our stay, there were periodic brief electricity outages, and twice we lost water. You may consider filling any empty jugs of water you've already used with tap water for toilet flushes (which was the most disruptive part of losing water). None of it is in the host's control, but it's good to be prepared :)
