Vacation rentals with a kayak in Addison County

Ti’s Bear Den is a beautiful magical place. It feels secluded and private yet is so close to shopping, restaurants, hiking, etc. The house comfortably accommodated 3 generations of my family while we were in Ticonderoga for a wedding. The kitchen is amazing and had everything we needed to host a dinner party too!!! Everyone enjoyed cooking and mingling outside and in!! So many places to hang out and enjoy the view of the lake and mountains. Our only regret is we didn’t have enough to time to enjoy all the amenities this home has to offer!! We will definitely be coming back.

William's property is so beautiful. The view of the lake is breathtaking from sunrise to sunset. We enjoyed every meal on the screened in porch surrounded by the beatiful water. The home is so cozy and feels homey yet luxurious. It had eveything we needed. The access to the water from the dock was one of our favorite parts. A lot of wonderful memories were made by the water... swimming, kayaking, watching turtles and fish. It was such a relaxing and peaceful vacation spot and we hope to be able to stay again in the future. We also enjoyed the historical aspect of the property and felt a connection when we visited Fort Ticonderoga, which was minutes away. Our family loved this vacation and this lovely and charming home! Great place to stay if you want to true peace and beauty. It's close to neighboring towns, which is a plus if you're looking to explore Vermont. There were a lot of great hikes nearby (Mt Philo was only 10 minutes away with amazing views) Nothing beat the back deck overlooking the water. We enjoyed eating outside listening to the birds. 10/10 stay.

Great stay, we all enjoyed ourselves. We did get some weather from the hurricane on our last night and temporary power outage, allowing for that last chance to truly disconnect. Screened porch was a great spot to relax. Enjoyed the waterfront and rented a boat, well worth it. The house was as described, no surprises and very clean. When I reached out to Guy with a question or two he responded immediately. We had a great time!

Kate was an excellent host! The house is charming, welcoming, and very comfortable. Not to mention private and in beautiful surroundings. Kate was highly responsive, gave us very clear checkin instructions and answered all questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Place was clean and as described. No Issues finding the place. Easy to get around the area and find things to do within a short drive. Kids loved swimming off the dock. My wife found a new hobby kayaking.

My sister insisted on a Vermont Farmhouse Thanksgiving and Jonathan’s place delivered wonderfully. From the tranquil views at the house, to the short walk to Lake Champlain, as well as having a Turkey farm, one of the few Wagyu beef farms in the country, maple syrup at every turn, and the Middlebury Co-op a short drive away for everything else all just down the road it was really a chef’s paradise. Though the house is nestled in a rural paradise, Jonathan’s instructions on how to get there and get into the house were perfectly clear and the house had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

The location was beautiful and the home was comfortable. Bathroom linens could use some updating but we absolutely loved our stay. This home is quiet and peaceful but a hearty drive to everything. If you’re looking for beautiful surroundings in a comfortable and clean home, this is the place to stay.

The location is peaceful and beautiful. Loved having our morning coffee on the dock overlooking the lake and autumn leaves. Enjoyed kayaking to Paddlers Pub for drinks & food. The cottage is very cozy and just enough space for 2 people.

This beautiful rustic little cottage was everything we hoped it would be. Clean, comfortable, well stocked, and lots of interesting old decor and books. We spent a good 30 minutes the first night just looking at all the old photos and memorabilia. The chairs, couch, and bed are all incredibly comfortable, and the large screened in porch is perfect for when you want to enjoy dinner outside without all the mosquitoes. Of course, we didn't spend many daylight hours in the cottage - instead we made use of the kayaks and private dock, and hiking on the nearby trails. It was fun seeing the dock from Rattlesnake Point! Don and Gary were great hosts - responsive, friendly, great local recommendations. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful spot to spend our anniversary, and we hope to be back again and again!

My partner and I had a fantastic stay at the Book House. It’s a funky, clean, quiet, and cozy (very!) little cottage. We loved having morning coffee on the porch with a gorgeous view of the lake, kayaking with Canadian geese, being surrounded by books and warming our feet by the gas stove, exploring the beautiful countryside, and hiking up Snake Mountain. And we really enjoyed our host, Laurel, who stays next door. She was super friendly, easy to communicate with, and was available if we needed her but also gave us plenty of privacy. The Book House is about a 15-20 mins drive to Middlebury (also great to explore), so you’ll want to stock up on provisions. However, nearby Pratt’s Country Store has all the basics you need and once you’re settled in you may not want to leave - we didn’t! Thanks again Laurel for sharing your special place.

Jeff was a great host. The guest house is lovely and conveniently located for those visiting Middlebury College. We would recommend the house without hesitation.

We had a truly wonderful time staying at Jeff’s place and are so glad to have found this gem of a home! From the start of our trip till the end, Jeff was a very warm, welcoming and communicative host. The home is in a truly picturesque location. Very peaceful, but also really close to Middlebury, Brandon and amenities. The home is very comfortable, and was pristine when we arrived. 6 of us (including two kids) stayed comfortably. The kitchen is well stocked and we enjoyed quality time over meals at home, and also had plenty to do outside. All in all, this was truly a break for us! We’d be glad to be back again! Really tucked away but with signage and hosts instructions, it wasn't too difficult to find. House is cozy and well kept. Absolutely beautiful view; if it was any closer to the lake it would be in the lake. Wish we'd had more time to take it all in.

The house is exactly across the street from Lake Dunmore, and has a private deck and access for canoe and kayaks. What a beautiful place!

My extended family and I had a very relaxing and peaceful holiday weekend. The home is gorgeous and well maintained. Many extras throughout to keep busy without leaving the house. Highly recommended to anyone. love love loved it !

This was the perfect cabin for me and my friends who were looking for a quick getaway! The place is spacious, well stocked and has the most peaceful surroundings. Proved to be the best fall weekend with lushes of orange bordering the beautiful lake! We were initially worried about being in an isolated spot but there is life around with helpful neighbors. It can be a bit of challenge to reach the destination so would definitely recommend getting there in broad daylight!

This is a place that we are fortunate to go to each year. Our entire family loves the cabin and peaceful lake. I think this is our 7th year. If you’re looking for tranquil, this is the perfect place.
