Dan's cottage provided everything that the three of us needed for our weekend stay. We enjoyed a walk on the nearby beach, and were able to explore the city of Belfast, which is charming and artsy. If we'd had more time we would have checked out more restaurants, galleries, and shops. There was a great food co-op in town where we picked up meals and snacks for cozy dinners and board games at the cottage. The beds were comfy, the place was clean, and it was about a one hour drive to Acadia National Park where we spent most of our time while we were in Maine.

We were immediately charmed by this pristine, cozy cottage by the ocean. The view is incredible and the atmosphere relaxed and inviting. Ashley and her hospitality crew are so friendly and helpful. Felt like we had known them for a while! Very difficult to leave this beautiful place.and hope to return someday.

Being at Carole's place was a total pleasure. If I could, I'd spend a lot of time living on a boat, and this was about as close as possible to that experience, only much more comfortable. I loved being able to see all that was going on in the bay - a lobster boat with a happy dog aboard, a kayak - but mostly birds, including a few visits from a couple of Bald Eagles. For anyone who enjoys nature and privacy, this place is heaven.

Really enjoyed this cottage in Blue Hill. The owner was incredibly responsive when our plans changed so we arrived a day early, and we really appreciated his flexibility. The cottage is very peaceful and we never heard any outside noises at all. My son really liked looking for the pigs in the morning. The beds were very comfortable, and we had everything we needed. The bedrooms do not technically have doors, but they’re so far apart that this was not an issue at all - they are separated by two floors.

We had a wonderful Christmas in Acadia, the cottage was the heart of our trip. Cozy, welcoming, clean, a spectacular view of lake. We were not prepared for how gorgeous the sunrise was! We were up very early several mornings for the show. Kids also enjoyed a polar plunge. Pup gives it 5 stars, too, fun walks along the road. Thank you for having us.

Walking and sun rises were wonderful. The cabin was clean and welcoming! Very quiet and peaceful. The only detail that would enhance the stay and departure is not having your guest do house keeping ( putting dishes away, stripping beds and starting laundry) though house keeping charges were included.

Our stay was great!! Did lose internet once you stepped out onto porch, wanted to keep in touch with family members that weren't able to be with us. It was great kayaks there to use. Old Town canoes seem to be smaller area to get in and out of, so bigger people not able to use. We will definitely love to stay again at cottage!! Beautiful sunrises and sunsets!! Thank you!!

Charming and Rustic Cottage, water and park view

Great for families with kids due to proximity to playground and beach, availability of kid books, life jackets, beach towels and bunk beds. More cabin-y and rustic than we anticipated, which might leave parents relaxed about kid-impact on home, but may not be great for fussier guests. As with most Bayside cottages, stairs are narrow and steep, walls are thin and bedrooms are small. This will be charming for some, problematic for others. The location and view are both spectacular. We spent many happy hours on the front porch, on the dock and taking long walks down Shore Road. The neighbors were unfailingly friendly and helpful. Ali responded promptly to all questions. Most mattresses were firm and comfortable, but one queen bed had an extremely soft mattress which caused us to change rooms. Bayside is a unique and wonderful community and draws repeat guests year after year, generation after generation! You will love it.
