Alaskan Retreat

A friend and I took the ferry to Petersburg and are now kayaking back south to Vancouver Island. Donna's place was convenient to the AMHS ferry terminal but still within walking distance of downtown. Her home is beautiful and very well-equipped with everything we needed - even homemade chocolate chip cookies were provided! Beds were comfy, bathrooms excellent, everything was super clean and we were delighted to be able to use the garage space to pack our kayaks before wheeling them down to the launch ramp! We would definitely stay at Donna's again!
A waterfront home is showcased on stilts, surrounded by lush greenery. The structure features large windows that provide natural light, and a spacious wrap-around deck extends over the water, offering views of the surrounding landscape and nearby tidelands.

Narrows Nest

This was a great fit for our family! The setting was beautiful and quiet with incredible views of the mountains and water from the big deck and gathering areas. The house was clean and well equipped. The beds and furniture were really comfortable and the place was cozy. We sat on the deck watching the sea lions, eagles, and boats. It was a quick drive into town for great food (try the Salty Pantry) and things to see. There's also a good grocery store in town. People in the community were extremely friendly and the nearby fishing was amazing. The nearby dock didn't bother us at all, there was rarely anything happening there. Steve was a friendly and helpful host. We will definitely be back! Alaska as only Alaska can do it!

Log Cabin w/Ocean Bayfront

Michael and Kris have a lovely place on the edge of Thorne Bay! It's a beautiful setting with lush trees and rainforest mosses covering the property, and a gorgeous view of the water. It's also incredibly peaceful, with only the sounds of salmon jumping and deer nibbling on the grass. The cabin itself is really cozy and has all the amenities we were looking for, including an easy-to-use heater, comfortable beds, and lots of cookware. We especially loved the relaxing smell of cedar. Michael and Kris left us to enjoy our stay, but were there when we needed them (we had an issue with our truck and they helped us out). A truck is recommended to access the property by a final stretch of local roads. Next time, we'll stay longer and take the kayaks out!

Marcia and Greg are great hosts, super friendly and warm. Beds were comfortable About a mile from main part of town and also about a mile in other direction to the airport — very walkable Beautiful view of the water Lovely backyard with berries Note that shower is not for the super tall! (We are not that at all) We loved our stay and it was perfect for the highlight of our entire trip — seeing black bears eat salmon with Alaska Vistas
