We absolutely loved our stay at Waikonini Homestead! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with tea and cake, setting the tone for a truly delightful experience. We stayed one night in ‘Owen’s Room’, and as no other guests were booked during our visit, the homestead felt wonderfully tranquil. The warm, cozy bed made for an incredibly comfortable night, and the meals were a perfect finish to the night. Dinner (prebooked) featured a fish pie, followed by a mince tart with homemade custard—comfort food at its very finest. Mary, our host, truly made the experience unforgettable. Her warm hospitality and engaging conversations about travel, dogs, and life made us feel completely at home. And her delightful Corgis, Peppi and Anne—oh, they were absolutely adorable! The homestead itself is a treasure—an elegant old home surrounded by stunning grounds that invite you to relax and explore. The perfect blend of timeless charm and modern comfort.

Charlotte and Chads cottage was just perfect for a quiet get away, surrounded by farmland, we loved the farm animals and felt right at home. Great rural location - perfect for the event we were attending at Claremont Hall which is next door. Not in town, so you need a car to access this property. But Timaru is only 10 mins away & has everything you may need (supermarkets, restaurants, shops, etc).

Ian and Tia were very loving hosts and attentive to whatever we needed. The cottage is fully equipped to spend a few relaxing days there.

Exactly what we were after! well stocked kitchen for everything we needed and slept us all comfortably. Dorm style accom in a beautiful spot. Thanks!

Lovely and peaceful surroundings in a thoughtfully designed eco-friendly space. Truly enjoyed my stay and had the best two night’s rest! Lynne is a wonderful kind and responsive host. Would recommend and hope to return soon!

An absolutely magic place to stay. It impresesed in every way. I couldn’t have been more lucky finding this. From the house to Mary and her tremendous hospitality, the brilliant dogs and the superb garden. It had it all. Brilliant

Martin’s accommodation was fantastic. Very spacious and peaceful, and immaculate quality furnishings. Martin himself was friendly and very approachable. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Great place to stay in the country. Perfectly located 5 minutes from Timaru.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at James's place and it was equally as good as the 1st time. For us Racing at Levels was magic, just being down the road. We were able to relax within a few minutes of the track. Plenty of room for a big Race Trailer. James a very responsive host and very helpful with early check in and being able to leave the trailer for an extra couple of hours after checkout. If James will have us & the house is free we will definately be staying again

Matt&Adele are so nice. They have very beautiful and clear home. And provide delicious breakfast for us. Recommend to everyone.

This peaceful bach was located in a remote area, surrounded by cattle. The cows were a constant entertainment for our kids and their noise didn't bother us in the evening. Bach was beautifully decorated and had everything you needed, except there was a lack of a freezer which was not apparent to us until we arrived. Recommend if you would like to be outside of the hustle and bustle of the city.

If I could give Tracy's Apartment 10/10 I would. It was one of the best Air BNB's we have ever stayed in and would return in a heartbeat for much longer if I could

The cottage is a beautiful, well-appointed nest from which to explore Peel Forest, Geraldine, and further afield. Although the photos are beautiful, they don’t capture the boundless charm and serene nature of the property. 100% recommend!

We had a fantastic stay here for a couple of nights. The setting was beautiful and Michele was kind enough to let us explore the stunning garden and enjoy some of her home grown veg. The welcome couldnt have been warmer. The accommodation was clean and cosy and was perfect for us and our two small children. A perfect alternative to staying in Tekapo. We would loved to have stayed longer. Would strongly recommend this place to others.

The perfect hosts! Sally's homemade granola and other daily staples, including fresh egg delivery set this stay apart from some others. It's evident that Drew and Sally work extremely hard to keep their place in shape, and yet, they make the time to check in on their guests daily to ensure we have everything we need. As soon as we mentioned our desire to BBQ dinner, Drew got the BBQ all cleaned up and ready to go for us. Koa, their very friendly (but respectful) black lab loved to visit if we were outside and never barked. The farm was so very quiet and acted as a peaceful reprieve from the noise of the city.

A fantastic place to stay but away from the crowds. A really beautiful place and bigger than we expected. Very comfortable and peaceful. Thank you for a fantastic stay.

Our stay in Fairlie was absolutely wonderful! Julie and Tony were fantastic hosts—warm, welcoming, and eager to share their beautiful property with us. The farm tour was a highlight, especially meeting Jim the sheep, who was such a character! Feeding the sheep was a fun and memorable experience that made our stay even more special. The stunning views provided a perfect backdrop for relaxation, and the spa was an incredible way to unwind after a day of exploring. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a peaceful and unique getaway!
