It might be easier to drive, but Sarasota does have a bus system

There is a bus stop at the end of the road and you can get to the heart of downtown Sarasota or downtown Bradenton in about 25 minutes for $1.50 or less, depending on age. Our buses are nicer and cleaner than we have encountered in other cities though service is limited.
