Weissenstein Palace, the sumptuous 18th century castle from Netflix’s latest period drama is opening its doors for a lavish stay fit for an empress. A private room in the place has been given an imperial makeover that will transport guests back in time to the late 19th century when Empress Elizabeth was at the height of her fame.

Booking opens at Nov 2nd at 7 p.m. CET for 2 individual one-night stays for two guests on June 19th and June 21st 2023.

The space
Located in Pommersfelden, Bavaria, Weissenstein Palace is widely considered to be one of the most important Baroque buildings in Germany. It features heavily in Netflix’s The Empress, where it serves as Sisi’s principal royal residence.

Weissenstein Palace has been occupied by the same family since its construction in the 18th century: the House of Schönborn. Host Benedicta von Schönborn will welcome guests to the palace and lead them through the magnificent entrance hallway to their grand suite. The suite has been given an imperial makeover in the sumptuous style Sisi would have been very familiar with.

Located in the west wing of the palace, the suite is normally exclusively reserved for the Schönborn family. During their stay, guests will be given an exclusive tour of the house, seeing parts of the buildings that are closed off to the public - including the ornate ‘Shell Room’, where a Sisi-inspired dinner and breakfast will be served.

Hi, my name is Benedicta von Schönborn-Wiesentheid. I’m an ancestor of Lothar Franz von Schönborn, who built Weissenstein Castle in Pommersfelden in the early 18th century. I can’t wait to guide our guests through the castle’s art gallery with important works of historical art of French, Italian, German and Dutch painters – and to show them where Elisabeth and Franz from Netflix’s series “The Empress” had their first dance!
