Family-friendly vacation rentals in The Dalles

I loved my stay at Mother Tree Farm - getting to stay somewhere tucked into the trees with easy access to Portland was amazing. The yurt was cozy and I had everything I needed. Jesse's instructions were clear and helpful. I hope I get the chance to stay here again!

Loved the place I would go back again. Would love to go back when it is warmer so we could enjoy sitting out back on the deck and listening to the river. Couple of things to keep in mind. It tells you that they will give you a bundle of wood but if you want to start a fire in the fireplace for each day you are there you will definitely need to bring your own wood. The internet is very spotty. Tried watching Netflix and it would stop on us to look for internet service again. We had a hard time figuring out the TV and what remote to use to get to Netflix and so forth. They do good on giving you directions on how to turn the surround sound on but we didn’t see anything about the TV. There is a road right next to the house and cars drive very fast on it so make sure to watch pets. But again I liked the place.

We have been here a few times before and loved it! This was out third time staying here and it is starting to feel like home to us. Quiet, peaceful and a view of the Columbia River...what more could you want? I come here partly because of the close proximity to some great wineries, but also for the solitude. It is well-appointed and has everything we need...kitchen...sauna...hot tub...and a really nice deck out back! There is nothing quite like sitting on the deck, sipping great wine, and watching a flock of turkeys stroll by. Jodine was very accommodating when we decided to stay for a fourth day....all at the last minute, but not a problem! VERY cool ! I'm sure we will be staying here again soon. We loved our mountain stay! Spacious log house, just as described. The huge log table was great for eating at and doing puzzles. The hot tub was soooo relaxing with the trees above and all around. Thank you for a great vacay!

Rachel's place was gorgeous - stunning views out over the gorge, big open spaces, lots of natural light. The kitchen had all the little amenities you wouldn't even think to ask for - she had tiny containers of every single spice, just enough to cook any meal. She reached out before we arrived to make sure we had everything we needed to get in, and checked in on our way out to make sure we didn't have any questions. She was a great host and her home was perfect in every way.

We had a fabulous time. The view was spectacular and everything about the house was comfortable and tastefully decorated.

The space is lovely and the sauna is a huge plus. I'm not sure where the complaints about privacy are coming from, the unit is about as far away as you'd expect neighbors to be and the shades are easy to use.

This is our third or fourth time staying with Lisa, and it's been great visiting each and every time! This is an amazing, serene spot perfect for a weekend getaway.

Julie’s listing was the perfect set up for my boyfriend and i! we had two large dogs along for the ride to see family in Sandy, Julie was quick and thoughtful in her answers of my clarifying questions before booking so we could align with her pet policy! getting to the property was highlighted well in her listing instructions. the space itself was beautiful and very clean. we utilized the fire pit outside and seeing the many animals was a treat!! highly recommend this space if you want to be close to the city and yet out of the way in the woods!

Very nice house. Me and my girlfriend rented it for a couple days to be near Mt. Hood and go snowboarding. The house was clean and cozy, with comfortable and warm beds. Maria and Chandler also responded quickly to a question we had. We highly recommend the property!

What a gem. Cozy, tall old trees all around, sauna was easy to use, and we loved walking to a local pizza place to see the stars at night. Couldn’t have been more relaxing & the weather at Mt. Hood was ideal for late season skiing. Will definitely be returning - thanks so much, we left feeling rested & restored.

We had a lovely three night stay at Bruce's Airbnb. It was just as described and very roomy. The kitchen was the highlight, as we are all avid cooks. It had everything we needed including pots and pans, spices, olive oil, coffee, etc. We cooked up a storm as it was quite rainy while we were there. We enjoyed the gas fireplace and played lots of games at the large kitchen table. The generous hot water and excellent water pressure was much enjoyed after a long XC ski. There was a large deck with both a gas and charcoal grill but we didn't use them because of the weather. Lovely views over the Gorge and Columbia river too!

It was a real pleasure to stay at such a well-maintained home in a peaceful location. It's rare to find a place that is both dog friendly and so clean. I appreciated having a spacious lawn, incredible views, and nice areas to walk our dog. My husband loved the kitchen amenities including cast iron skillet, sharp knives, and a great selection of spices. Everything was top notch.

This cabin was a very good experience, very clean and feel good feeling. Our friend group all enjoyed the stay worth the experience.

Great location and a beautiful view. Even though there are a few cabins next door, it feels completely private. All the windows face a beautiful forested area and creek. The hot tub was wonderful and the house is clean.

Wow words can’t describe the view and coziness of this cabin! Hot tubbing under the stars listening to the river, basking in the February sun right next to the river, cozying up in front of the fire, sleeping well in comfy beds-this place has it all!! We will definitely be back!

We had a great stay at Nedra’s place! We loved the walking path in the back next to the river, it was beautiful and peaceful! We also loved the rock band and spent the bad weather day inside relaxing and playing rock band as a family. Something we never do so it was super fun! There was plenty of food places nearby so we took advantage of that as well as cooked breakfast in the fully stocked kitchen! Beautiful location, fully functional house we would definitely love to stay again!

This is the closest you will come to ski-in, ski-out on Mt. Hood; very convenient short walk to the tubing hill and Ski Bowl. I appreciated that the condo was so well stocked with household items that you may have forgotten to bring; foil, plastic wrap, spices, cleaning supplies. Truly, it was the best stocked condo I've ever rented. They also had a wonderful supply of children's toys, sleds, games and even a play area for little ones. We had a great time and many thanks for all the thoughtful and considerate amenities.
