This is a gem, take a deep breath as you walk to the door of the old Shearer's quarters, open the door and be greeted with a panoramic view the ranges and a delightfully renovated space. If you like hiking, fishing, a hot tub in the middle of the bush, away from everyone, this is for you. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful spot! We loved being in such a peaceful location, just a short walk from being able to swim in the lake. Lovely's place had everything we need, including a nice outdoor area - perfect for storing bikes and drying swimming gear! Lovely was a dream to communicate with and went out of her way to make our stay great. We can't recommend staying here highly enough!

Ruru Lodge is a fabulous retreat in lush gardens, amazing views up the hill in Kinloch. We took over the whole family wing and found it extremely comfortable, warm and tastefully decorated. Our 'honeymoon' suite had its own bath and shower (in tub) and double sink with beautiful garden views, very comfortable bed and large space (my sister did yoga). We made the kost of the spa with a view to the bay in the distance. We woke up to the sound of native birds which was awesome! Renee is such a thoughtful and caring host - it's like going home to mum. Our breakfast was fresh and abundant: cereal, fruit yogurt, croisants or hot cross buns, juice, tea/coffee. On our last day Renee packed us delicious food for the road. We highly recommend Ruru Lodge and staying with its owners Renee and Ian

Peter's place is a rare find. Close to the hot spring, 30 min drive from Rotorua town centre. It is a working farm with horses, chicken etc. on site. It is such a special experience when you lift up your head in the room and see a horse staring at you through the window. We had great time there.

It is dog friendly and my dog definitely had fun time with Tess and Ria（if I remembered the name right）. Our stay was absolutely wonderful-clean, cozy, and full of charm. The farm setting made it a truly special experience. We were warmly greeted by a beautiful horse at the gate, and the sweetest puppy, Tess, always came to welcome us back after dinner. The hosts were incredibly kind, friendly, and welcoming. It was a peaceful, heartwarming getaway-we would love to come back again!

Before even getting there the good communication and warm presence was noticed. When arriving my breath was taken away. I went there for some peace and quiet and thats what I got plus a memorising view. The hot tub was set up to start the fire and the place had everything I needed. I wanted to spend more time there relaxing the going out. Thankyou for the warm welcome and beautiful stay!

Tammy was invaluable every step of the way. The house is warm, friendly, and super clean. The wood was ready in the fireplace, with a basket full next to it. The beds were excellent, and the kitchen was perfect. Highly recommended!

We arrived at night and the homeowner also waited outside the door to be greeted, and the environment was nice to stay in.

For those who enjoy farm stays, I definitely recommend Cathy’s place. She is the best host I have ever met—very polite, friendly, and always approachable. Staying at Cathy’s place is great value for money and feels like staying in a homestead.

Stunning home, with comfortable quality beds and furnishings. Home set in beautiful gardens with multiple outdoor spaces and lovely views over parklands. Didn’t want to leave!
