This is a gem, take a deep breath as you walk to the door of the old Shearer's quarters, open the door and be greeted with a panoramic view the ranges and a delightfully renovated space. If you like hiking, fishing, a hot tub in the middle of the bush, away from everyone, this is for you. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful spot! We loved being in such a peaceful location, just a short walk from being able to swim in the lake. Lovely's place had everything we need, including a nice outdoor area - perfect for storing bikes and drying swimming gear! Lovely was a dream to communicate with and went out of her way to make our stay great. We can't recommend staying here highly enough!

Renee and her family were incredibly welcoming, making us feel right at home from the start. The check-in and check-out process was seamless and hassle-free. The property itself was stunning—beautifully maintained and wonderfully spacious, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!

Felt right at home!! Host were friendly and welcoming! Cozy, comfortable, spacious. Having the horses, chickens, and baby cows added a special touch that cannot be replicated. Would definitely come back

Renee and Ian were SO amazing, friendly, respectful and kind. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and extremely comfortable. They have more amenities than mentioned initially (hot-tub, guest refrigerator, etc.). not to mention their home is their own secluded property sitting on acres of land with views you couldn't get in pictures. I can write a book but you will LOVE their home and want to respect their slice of paradise as your own. Go with Renee and Ian. Don't disappoint yourself.

Wayne was very friendly and responsive, the house was peaceful with plenty of space for guests. The firepit and pizza oven were easy to use and safe with fire extinguishers nearby. Local dairy/takeaway options are nearby and the towncentre is only a 10min drive away. 10/10 Would stay here again. :)

Really a dream place. In the middle of the nature and silence. We spend 1 day there and would had love to spend 1 week and more. Be kind to yourself and book this place asap and do not forget to enjoy your breakfast in the terrace front of nature. At night, we had delicious dinner at Roquette restaurant in Taupo. We recommend. She was so nice quick to respond flexible with us she was truly amazing for anyone thinking about staying here we stood for a week and live every minute of it definitely a must stay if your visit New Zealand

Maura's house is beautiful. It is located just outside Taupo with a fantastic view over the countryside. Everything is decorated with a lot of love and there is really nothing missing. Maura is very friendly and always responds immediately. The kitchen in the house is huge. Maura's cat loved sleeping on our sofa and being petted. We would really like to stay there again.

This is the second time we have stay here so we obviuously love the privacy and expanse of the place

I've always wanted to stay in a camper and this was a real NZ experience as they love their campers! Angie did a great tour of her unique sheep, wool making and understanding her work which includes all natural dyes for wool and carding/spinning by hand. I really enjoyed my stay.

Epic views - definitely worth a detour! Cathy is very friendly and let us walk around the property. She was kind enough to show us her alpacas and even let us watch her feed them. The cutest animals!
