Places to stay in Swanton

Very peaceful country place. Jenn's very carefully written directions made it easy to find the place. It was perfect for my visit that involved time in both PA and Maryland. It was a very relaxing place.

We had a wonderful weekend at Whispering Pines. The home had beautiful views, great lake access, and was the perfect distance from the restaurants and shops. We visited in the off season so there were not a lot of boats out and it was very quiet. There were some light bulbs out and things of that nature, but again, it was the off season. Everything about the home was perfect and allowed us to get away and truly just enjoy ourselves. I would definitely be interested in staying here again in the future.

If I could give Ruth and her place a higher rating I would! She is really attentive to detail AND wants to know how she can make it even better! Great location! Very close to downtown Davis and still feels very quiet and peaceful! Easy access to so many outdoor activities! The next time we go to either Davis or Thomas, WV, we plan to stay here!

We loved our stay with our little family of 4. Loved the patio with seating to enjoy the lake views and coffee in the morning. Space had everything we needed, and even baby gates for the stairwell, which was great for our one year old. The walkable coffee shop and restaurant were both very convenient and good. We would recommend this space for a small family or couple any time, and can’t wait to return ourselves.

A snug, smartly appointed place - everything new and modern - that held 3 teenage boys, 2 dogs and myself. Easy walk to Thomas Main Street and Blackwater Canyon trail head. Owners spent a good amount of time helping get my dead car battery replaced after all stores and garages were closed.

Allison was an excellent host and communicator. This location is great and a very short walk to all the shops, restaurants and bars Davis has to offer. The back porch overlooks the beautiful Blackwater River and offers a great space to relax and unwind. You couldn’t ask for a better place to stay in Davis. We’ll definitely be back to stay again.

We stayed for one night in canaan. We really enjoyed the small cottage. Its very charming and quaint. Was very clean and matched the desciption well. Just minutes from the blackwater falls and davis. Would recommend this spot and will be returning in the future!

We enjoyed our short stay, especially sitting outside by the river. Being able to walk to the local businesses was a plus. Missed having a TV, but made it work with a laptop and wi-fi. Walls were kind of thin, or we had a loud neighbor. Could walk to various restaurants and shoppes. Nice shower and mattress. Good for minimalistic room.

Fantastic! This place is literally beautiful down to the furniture choices and the DECOR to the actual beautiful mountain overlook across the way. Just so peaceful. The sky was so clear you could literally see the Big Dipper above the home. Just perfect.
