Vacation rentals in Suzu

This place is a hidden gem. The house is beautifully appointed and very well equipped. We stayed for a week in the middle of Winter and were always very comfortable. It was lovely and peaceful by the windswept sea. Takuo san and Emiko san are fantastic hosts. They were always unfailingly friendly and helpful and gave us great recommendations, including about local lacquer ware and places to eat. This included Somamichi which is a gorgeous costal restaurant with truly amazing food. No doubt much less is open at the moment compared to before the earthquake but we were not at a loss of things to do and had a wonderful time.

The owner and the listing is one of the coolest I’ve stayed at on Airbnb. The premises has a cozy bar facing the ocean, and you can rent SUPs and take lessons from the host. The living room space is reminiscent of old school Japanese house as seen in the photos. The bedrooms are great for big group of friends, and the Japanese style deep bath tub has another fantastic view of the ocean from the second floor, great at any time of day. The owner also has a hilariously cute dog that mans the bar with him. Hope we get the chance to go back in the future.
