Vacation rentals with beach access in Sunset District, San Francisco

This was one of my favorite Airbnb experiences. The location was ideal, the views spectacular, and they are great hosts who always immediately respond to my messages! I’ve already rebooked several more stays in the near future!

We had a blast staying in the Half Moon Bay area. The place was private and they helped with all of our requests very quickly. We ate some amazing food and highly recommend Sam's Chowder House and Mezza Luna!

Gary's place was exactly as described. Absolutely perfect location in a great little town. Gary was a excellent host and was very accommodating and understanding with a mix-up (on my end). My only hesitation on recommending Gary's place is that I want it to be available when we come back!! :) Highly recommended and would absolutely stay again!

Had an amazing stay. Such a cute space and loved how walkable the location was.

I would gladly live in this sunny apartment full time. It's quiet and roomy, with views of trees, but only a block from superb restaurants like Burma Superstar, and only a few blocks from Southshore Center and Alameda Beach. Its fixtures are somewhat outdated, but that's East Bay real estate for you.

Meg was exceptionally responsive and everything was wonderful! So nice to walk and shop on Main Street. Great place for a quick vacay!

Our stay at this Airbnb was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully considered. The space itself was beautifully designed — stylish yet cozy, with a warmth that made us feel instantly at home. One of the standout features was the stunning view of the garden. Whether sipping morning coffee or winding down in the evening, the peaceful greenery provided a perfect backdrop. The location was equally impressive — just a short walk to the beach and within easy driving distance of some truly epic hiking trails. What really elevated our experience were the thoughtful touches throughout the home. The kitchen was well-stocked with essentials like cinnamon, salt, and coffee — small details that made a big difference. It’s rare to find a place that feels this seamless and inviting. We left feeling relaxed, recharged, and already looking forward to returning.

I would absolutely return and stay longer. I felt at home in the space and with the furnishings. Extra touches added warmth and personality. Off-street parking is a fabulous bonus.

Had a lovely stay at Annette and Fred’s place - the location was great, the house was fully stocked and the hosts were extremely responsive when we had questions. Having a hot tub and gas fireplaces were an added bonus for spending the evenings admiring the views.

Beautiful home in an even more beautiful setting! Would certainly stay again.

This is an older home, yet clean, warm, and comfortable with an incredible view of Muir Beach - Very peaceful and beautiful. You can't help but relax! We look forward to spending a long weekend here again. (If you're not from this area, Muir Woods which has the redwoods is right up the hill, maybe 10 min away - the redwoods are always worth seeing, but make sure to make a reservation for parking at least a few days in advance) There is a wonderful hike along the coast from Muir Beach towards S.F. It goes to Tennessee Beach, but you can turn around at any time and make the hike long or short. We enjoyed staying here and look forward to coming back! -Steve and Mary

We had a great spring break at Mary-Anne's house. It was SO close to the beach, which made for lots of morning and evening walks along the coast. It was also close enough to walk downtown. Her home was extremely family friendly - kids games, beach toys, beach towels and a relaxed living room made it fun for the whole family. As a host, she was extremely responsive and easy to communicate with. The house was well stocked, and while there were excellent restaurants nearby, we were also able to do some cooking in the kitchen. We left already thinking about next year. Mel's place was great--exactly as advertised. Clean and comfortable with a well appointed kitchen with all the amenities. Mel was very easy to work with and extremely prompt in responding to a question about a tripped circuit breaker--I had the instructions I needed within 5 minutes of sending her a message. A great place to stay and close to everything you want in the Pacifica/San Francisco area. I highly recommend Mel's place!

Amazing place! The house was just as described and looked exactly like the pictures. The location was great with truly amazing views. Our host was super responsive and even had the home ready for us to check in early! We enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back in the future.

We had a fun weekend stay at Jeff's place. The beds were quite comfortable and we enjoyed the backyard, and the antique kitchen space. It's a great spot to explore Alemeda!

Truly beautiful flat, with all the comforts of home! So gorgeous, one could imagine living for weeks in the top floor of this well-maintained house in outer Sunset. We walked to the beach, coffee shops, bookstores and restaurants. Thank you Laura for a great stay!

We had a great stay at this Airbnb! The place was immaculately clean upon arrival, which we really appreciated. The host was fantastic—friendly, responsive, and very accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed. The location is also a huge plus—just two blocks from a beautiful park, perfect for a morning stroll or some fresh air. One thing to note is that this unit is on the third floor, which was fine for us but did come with some challenges. We have two small children, and it was difficult at times to keep them quiet for the tenants below. If you’re traveling with little ones, just be mindful that noise can carry. Also, the WiFi was not working during our stay, which was a bit inconvenient, but hopefully, that was just a temporary issue. Overall, a great stay in a well-kept space with a wonderful host. Would definitely recommend!

This place is stunning! Hosts reached out to let me know they were available if I needed anything. It was clean, Cozy , Everything was labeled to make it easy to find things. Spacious! Had great recommendations readily available. It was well worth what I paid! It’s not often I feel at home in airbnbs but this place offered that environment! Location is walking distance to the beach. Shop, restaurants, and it’s quiet in the evenings! Highly highly recommend!

Arlene’s place was the perfect location after being in the city for a week. The neighborhood was quiet and not crowded. It was close to the airport. The beds were comfortable and the showers were hot. A short walk to see the ocean.

We had a great time staying at Melanie Joy's place. The location can't be beat, and her place was clean and spacious for the two of us. Would recommend for a nice stay in peaceful in Pacifica.

The views and location is better in person. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away for awhile the location was beautiful. The host was very accommodating and left perfect instructions checking in was a breeze I really enjoyed this place.

I have rented many apartments in San Francisco and this is by far the best! The steps up are quite steep but the spectacular view makes the climb worthwhile. The apartment is spacious and nicely furnished. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need and there is a washer and dryer. Jeff was a very responsive, friendly and helpful host. I will try to book this apartment every time I travel to San Francisco and cannot recommend it highly enough!

This is our third stay at Kimberly's airBnB! As usual, it was lovely and exactly as described. We always try to book her airBnb if we can - it is that good! Well worth it!

Terrific stay in a great neighborhood with wonderful hosts. I was in SF with my dog Coda producing an event and needed a home base walking distance from work yet a little removed from the fray. Andrew and Irene were super helpful and their place is very well located in a clean, safe neighborhood a few steps from the Presidio or Marina. I also had a car with me and it took a bit to get used to the parallel parking on hills, but Andrew gave great advice on that. I would highly recommend their place to anybody looking for an SF trip in a locals’ neighborhood that’s still very close to everything. Thanks guys! Alex
