Had a really lovely stay, it was so quiet and peaceful. There was an issue with the shower drain but Donald responded immediately and had it fixed within a few hours. Really recommend this place and the owner was so accommodating and helpful. We hope to be back again

thanks so much to Elaine for her hospitality. the Lodge is lovely and cozy with lots of.space...and a tumble dryer for when it rained! the welcoming cakes were a.class touch and the host was able to respond quickly and efficiently to any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be back next year.

Great stay enjoyed by 6 of us. Plenty of room in the house for all of us and two bathrooms was a bonus. Great location only a 10 minute walk along the river into the town

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Sandysike Barn! Sharon was a wonderful host—her communication was excellent from start to finish, and she was always happy to help with any questions or requests. Her warm and welcoming approach made our visit even more enjoyable. The barn itself was immaculate, spacious, and thoughtfully designed. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was particularly well-equipped, which was a huge plus, as we opted to cook most of our meals. The hot tub was a highlight, offering the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring the beautiful surrounding hills. The peaceful and picturesque surroundings made it feel like a true retreat from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Overall, we genuinely couldn’t fault our stay at Sandysike Barn. It’s clear that Sharon takes great pride in maintaining the property and ensuring her guests have the best possible experience.

What a great find! My wife, daughter and I stayed at little meadow, and loved it! Very clean, very warm, everything we needed. The hot tub was a nice touch and over looks the meadows, with views of the cows and sheep. Susan was a great host. Great touch with prosecco and chocolates on arrival. Susan was kind enough to let my daughter feed the baby calves only a few days old! Amazing experience...! The two cats Lucky and Clover are very friendly and loved cuddles! Within 10 mins there are supermarkets and only a couple of mins away there is a local shop in Dearham. There are two local pubs, of which we ate at the old Mill the food is great. The location of West House Farm is perfect. So much to see within 45 mins, Buttermere, Windermere, keswick and so on. Buttermere was are favourite. Would highly recommend, Susan was a great host, lovely place, my daughter is already asking can we go back!

We wanted to stay North of the Border for a family birthday. Instructions were clear. Kitchen well-equipped. Beds very comfortable. Bathrooms pristine. Hot Tub welcoming. Margaret was a wonderful, responsive and thoughtful host leaving not only a welcome box and kitchen essentials but remembered the birthday on the day and left an additional gift which was much appreciated. The site is shared with a Whisky Distillery and Cafe and the staff were all amazing. It was easy to find, close to a town with places of interest, good transport links. I would stay again.

Loved this place and would definitely return! We stayed here with our reactive dog, we were worried about other people on site but we had no issues what so ever. Our dog was off lead constantly. Whole place felt secluded, safe and the no electronic entertainment was just what we needed!

Would 100% recommend staying at the Riverain Coach House. We recently stayed with some friends and enjoyed local walks close to the house, a good selection of local pubs nearby but would recommend pre-booking to avoid disappointment. However with Penrith and shops being only 10 minutes away, it wasn't a problem. The house has been done up beautifully and is really well equipped. Christine was great, providing lots of helpful information before our stay and the welcome hamper went down a treat. Thank you so much, we would 100% stay again.

A lovely little cottage in a central location. Immaculately clean and very welcoming. Sandra is an excellent host ,very quick to respond to messages . We also received a message early on our arrival day to say that the cottage was ready for us which was nice .

Great place to stay, really accessible to lots the Lake District has to offer. Cottage is lovely with a great log burner (liked the honesty box set up for the wood).

Alison very friendly and helpful. Overall satisfying and good experience. It was my fault that didn't realize no WiFi, which was a bit of inconvenience as soon wanted to stay in cottage to do part papers for his exams, but couldn't and data didn't work very well, but it was a blessing for rest of us. Bring your own little things like sugar, milk etc. There was tea and salt. Didn't bother us as came prepared. Overall would recommend

Had a family weekend which was great from start to finish. The lodge was lovely, clean and actually better than described. Beautiful surroundings with lovely pub for food. Swimming pool was great too. Overall amazing experience - thank you, Sarah.

What a lovely, lovely place to stay. The lodge manages to be both cosy and spacious at the same time. There are three really nice bedrooms plus three bathrooms and the main living space is big, with plenty of space for lounging, reading, playing games or watching the tv after a day at the beach. The thing I always love when I go to stay anywhere is great bedding and the lodge was not a disappointment! The downstairs double bed had the most incredible duvet, huge and fluffy and warm - lovely for lying in bed in the morning looking at the great view from the french doors with a cup of tea. We used the swimming pool, using the booking system, which was nice. You book a session in the pool, which you have for your own use during your session. Having the pool to ourselves was a bit of a treat! There is a lovely pub on site too, although we sat outside due to the current situation, we went in to order drinks and it was really nice inside. Though no local beer, which would have been nice. The lodge is within walking distance of a really amazing, amazing beach - just beautiful. You can do lots of really great walks from the lodge, along the beach or the coastal walk, as well as through the many lovely forests in the area. We were lucky enough to see red squirrels! Despite some slight issues with communication (down to a problem with technology and not on their part) we had a wonderful time and are very much looking forward to returning. We would really recommend Barend as a wonderful place to visit, the lodge was absolutely gorgeous (did I mention the amazing duvet?!) and just a few minutes walk from the most incredible beach. A perfect trip away. We will absolutely be making a return trip

We had a great stay at Whitbarrow. We have visited the resort before on many occasions. We had some minor issues in the accommodation which were swiftly resolved by Seasons staff. Kal and Anita were great to communicate with leading up to and during the stay also. Very responsive and helpful. Good facilities onsite too and helpful staff. Thank you

The lodge was great! We had a fantastic time, I can't remember the last time I watched a VHS or was able to sit and just play board games with friends. The perfect spot for a chill weekend away with your friends!

We had a great stay at Sarahs place. Great location near the beach and also having the pool on site is handy for wet days.

Raphaela and Steve were very helpful and pleasant. They encouraged us to let them know when we needed something. The cottage has a great bathroom and well-appointed kitchen and is very comfortable. We enjoyed the farm-like atmosphere—it’s so peaceful yet so close to amenities. And the grazing cows standing in the road to town were easily nudged with minimal mooing. We loved it!
