Thoughtfully designed, the house is fully equipped with every tool and appliance you could possibly need. Heaven of tranquility while being at a walking distance from cafes and restaurants in St James, Kalk Bay and Muizenberg. Karen and Gary, are the most unique of hosts I’ve came across, made our stay very easy, and made sure we had an incredible stay. Helped us with every single thing we asked for and are lovely people. Loved our time there and we’ll definitely be returning very soon.

A piece of paradise! The beachfront location can not be beat. Accessible only by a sand road requiring 4x4, the property is very peaceful. You can enjoy days spent walking along nearly empty beaches, watching the tide come in and out, exploring a nearby sand dune, or taking boat trips to the Bazaruto Archipelago. If you’re lucky, you can book your boat excursions with Steve (ask the hosts to connect you!) The lodge is rustic and wonderful. Don’t expect things to be shiny and modern! But everything is kept very clean and tidy, with daily housekeeping. The kitchen is well-equipped but you will need to bring any consumables with you. Keep that in mind as going into town takes 40min each way. The beach varies a great deal with the tides but is always pleasant for swimming - you just might have to walk for a bit! There’s a small rocky part at the top of the beach but not an issue to navigate: at high tide you can wade in using the concrete paths, low tide bring your sandals :)

Wow, there is no other word to some this place up. It’s amazing, you get the wow factor when you walk in. It’s close to the beach, clean and tidy, all open plan, with plunge pool and sun all day, the view is incredible! We had a bbq here everyday! Hezron , the house keeper was very helpful. Thank you Jane and Barry for wonderful stay. Smitswinkel Bay is incredibly beautiful from the sand and sea in the day to the sky and stars at night. I have never experienced such beautiful surroundings - truly a once in a lifetime experience. The property itself is immaculate and a marvel given the probable difficulty in getting building materials to it! All modern interior with the exception of installed lighting and WiFi/reliable cellular connection - the lack of which adds to the experience. There is nothing else you could want or need for a trip to relax and detach from modern life. Plenty of information provided to us before the visit to help in planning the trip. Check in process was perfect with Barry escorting us to the property. I would have no reservations about recommending this property or Jane/Barry as hosts.

We had a really lovely mini moon at Shani's bungalow. It had the most phenomenal view, was a quick walk down the stairs into the sea and was perfectly as described. Austin who helped us check in was very helpful & responsive, and organised someone to help us carry our bags back up the stairs when we checked out! It was equipped with everything we needed. We just wish we stayed longer! We would love to come and stay again.

We would move in permanently if we could. A truly magical stay thank you!

A fabulous location, surrounded by Cederberg mountains, wonderful spacious accommodation, amazing skies, wonderful hikes. Swimming in the river which was an experience… Simon is an amazing host, welcoming, helpful, he has an extensive knowledge and history of the land. He took us for a hike up to one of the mountains with him early in the morning to miss the heat of the day. A heavy climb rewarded us with breathtaking views and evidence of bushmen civilisation and their art in cave paintings. Unforgettable!

We so loved staying here. Location second to none. Amazing sunsets and Mountain View’s. A few minor issues at beginning were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The staff who were dealing with any problems always quick to respond.

Natasha’s place was absolute heaven and the 3km bumpy dirt road to get there was perfectly manageable in our Kwid. And well worth the magical peaceful space. Thank you.

Christine is an absolutely responsive, helpful, and supportive host. No matter what issue, which issue, Christine has a solution. The cottage is very well equipped. The view of the bay is wonderful. We'll be back.

This place is exceptional, absolutely lovely. The cottage is spacious , beautifully maintained and very well equipped. The garden is beautiful. The on-site staff are excellent. The property is blessed with solar energy which provides light and power for charging devices etc during the long power outages afflicting Zambia. Plus there is a very efficient portable gas stove. Ingrid was a great host, maintaining a very high standard in the property, providing helpful advice and giving clear information on how everything operated. I thought every aspect of this property was outstanding.
