This is a lovely and comfortable house. The host is extremely generous. We very much enjoyed are stay and are trying to return as soon as possible.

Liked the house. The kitchen is well stocked. The bathroom layout is a little unusual. Both bathrooms are adjoining to each other so you need to make sure the door between them is locked. Great responsive host.

I often look at places where I can work from, but feel in the middle of nowhere. this place was perfect for that. The grounds were gorgeous. The area was very quiet and peaceful. The house is way more than the pictures do justice. I had no issues with this property at all and several friends are now wanting to come there after I showed them where we were staying

Great location for exploring Grass Valley, easy walking distance to restaurants, theaters, and downtown. Very nice inside remodel, great place to relax and enjoy friends.

This was a great place to stay. Karl was very proactive in communicating with us prior to our stay and checked in with us over the course of our stay to ensure everything was ok. The kitchen was thoughtfully equipped which allowed us to cook a dinner for family we were visiting. Would stay again.

I can’t get over how tranquil and quiet this location was. The sky was lit up with stars that I haven’t seen in so long. The deck with the fire pit is where we spent most of our time. Rocky has created a unique gem.

I love this place so much! This was my second little retreat here this season. Always clean, comfy, and beautiful, and a wonderful place to relax. Asha is a lovely host—very helpful, responsive, and considerate. When there was a minor issue with one of the appliances, she got it fixed right away. I’m sure I’ll be back!

What an amazing stay! Starting with getting there: Follow Erin’s directions and it’s very easy. The hill going up to the house would definitely require 4WD, if you’re going in the winter. We went when there was a snow storm the previous weekend, so the hill was slightly wet. Getting up the hill at the very end was a little tough and it took me two tries but I only have AWD. We asked about early check in and Erin allowed us to check in early! It felt like we were right at home the minute we walked in! Cute quaint cabin with an amazing wraparound porch. Beautiful views and very private and peaceful. If you’re looking for a very relaxing wonderful getaway, this is the place for you. We even asked about staying an extra day and Erin got back to us very quickly. Sadly we were unable to stay because someone else was staying there that evening. We will definitely be back and already planning our next trip to stay with Erin.

Beautiful, yet very affordable, mountain retreat. Amazing large area for our pupper to run around and explore in. Hot tub was amazing. Definitely a steal for the price!

The yard was the real gem for us— hours of outdoor play right outside the door. We arrived to fresh snow and got more! It is as magical as it gets for beauty and fun playing outdoors. Inside the cabin, the kitchen is clean and spacious so’s easy to cook in. The collection of dvds was fun for parents and kids to relax. This is a perfect quiet getaway retreat! We will repeat!

We had 3 couples from our family and 6 children, ranging from 2 to 11. There was plenty of room for all and we had a great visit. The kids loved the pool. The adults liked it also. This home is up to date and we'll equipped. We would definitely come here again. The host was extremely helpful and great to work with.

This was the perfect home away from home for a work trip recently. The beautiful backyard was an amazing restful sanctuary to revitalize at the end of the day, with beautiful bird and creek sounds. Lovely and accessible with big rooms and a nice spacious kitchen.

My visit to Rivendell was simply AMAZING! This home is perfect for any traveler. My dog Sasha and I arrived to such a beautiful welcoming with flowers and a welcome sign! Sasha and I spent the first few days on our own and we both LOVED the yard. We spent every evening and morning, on the front deck enjoying the birds, the frogs and crickets, nothing but nature to intake. Now if you are a cook, this kitchen at Rivendell is AMAZING! You literally can walk in this kitchen and bake a cake. Shannon has a well-stocked kitchen. Even when I did not have a blender to use, Shannon was so very kind by bringing me one from her own home! Shannon and Todd were very, very responsive to all my questions, I never felt ignored!! I did have a family member come for a few days and we enjoyed the pool table, and the TV parlor with movie nights and cocktails. This home is perfect for a family, or a single person just looking to get away and tranquility! Thank you, Shannon for such an amazing stay!!!

Beautiful area! And the cabin was amazing, cute little tiny home! Heater worked great for the cold nights. And host was very nice and communicative, gave advice on walks to do and such.

The Hart House was a perfect place to celebrate our two friend's getting married. The house was beautiful, inside and out! The meadow and the pond were such a nice place to unwind and relax from our busy city jobs. We picked some herbs from the garden for our meals and enjoyed the fire pit at night. The beds were cozy and kitchen had everything we needed. Would recommend this amazing stay to anyone looking to house a group of nature lovers!

Bruce and Katie’s guesthouse was absolutely stunning, along with their property. They provided more than the basic necessities, perfect for a home away from home. We stayed for just about two weeks… the interior featured wonderful historic artwork of Nevada County which was an awesome feature to see, up to date appliances in the kitchen (good selection of seasonings…and snacks ;) ), great sized TV in the living room & bedroom, and good size bed and sofa sleeper (which was actually extremely comfy), great condition older style furniture filling the rest of the house, with beautiful forest surroundings just a few minutes from town, this is a great retreat away from the norm. We had 2 small dogs with us, and they also loved it! If you fear dog/s barking from you across a fence, this would be the only down-turn from wanting to stay here, personally we had no issues with Jedi keeping his property secure, just maintain a distance as you would, and he will too :) Thank you Bruce &

Donna was super responsive and helpful and the place was incredibly comfortable, clean, well stocked and beautiful. I would 100% stay here again. It has everything you need and is so peaceful and quiet but close to town!

Feeding the cows and pigs was a huge bonus! The treats were provided by the host and were left in the pantry. The cows literally come to you next to the fenced area to say Hello! My little kiddo had a great time exploring the gated area. This vacation away form city life way just what my family and I needed. We had lots of privacy and felt very calm in the little red cabin. Before we checked in, the host recommended lots of places to visit. This helped us plan what to do. :)

The property is a dream! My son adores all things fishing, disc golf and outdoors! He spent so much time in a kayak fishing that disc golf wasn’t played! The outdoor bbq hang out was amazing! Covered, spacious and functional. The fire pit is also great! Lots of hangout spots. The covered deck by the main pond is where I hung out most with a book. They are on the premises, which I loved. It was nice to know if I needed anything they were there! I can’t wait to go back next year! 😊
