A cosy little stockhouse in the archipelago

Over 100 years old stockhouse in a little village in the archipelago of Maxmo in Vöyri. The atmosphere is calm and quiet in the village. The place is 10 km from the local center and 40 km from the city center of Vaasa, the capital of the Pohjanmaa/Österbotten county. The region is about 50:50 bilingual finnish-swedish speaking, but the archipelago is nearly 100 % Swedish speaking. Many people speak both languages. English is a common foreign language. You get by with english very well.

Recently renovated apartment (58m2, bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom) in an old wooden house in the absolute center, very close to City Theatre. Peaceful yard with parking included. Bicycles at your disposal. The apartment is one of 6 in this family house. Common areas are on the upper floor where also self-service breakfast is served. There is a sauna, large balcony and lounge. Summertime there is also a large terrace with grill in the yard. Not suitable for parties.

Nice downtown triangle, 250 meters to Aalto Center, 300 meters to City Theatre, 100 meters to convenience store. Elevator is (apartment on the second floor). Guests use Wifi (including Netflix and Elisa Entertainment) . Possibility of an extra bed (mattresses). For speed rides, we hope to book at least 3 nights.

My home is near: Quietly located in the woods, near a farmhouse. I love my space for: Beautiful surroundings, rocky pine forest. Surrounded by good berry and mushroom terrain. Comfortable dirt roads for cycling and jogging.. I have couples, solo travelers, and families (with kids).

I have been to Vaasa several times in the last 17 years and always stayed at one of main hotels. This time I took the apartment and it was fantastic to have some space and of course, have use of a Suana. Most importantly, when I made a silly mistake and locked myself out of the apartment at 6:15 PM on my last night, Petri came to my rescue immediately and drove back into town to get me a spare key. I very much appreciated that; he saved the day so I could still make my early flight home to Australia the next day. The apartment was everything I expected and more but that effort was above and beyond. Thanks so much.

A clean and comfortable place to stay. Ähtäri zoo wasn't all too far away from this place, realistically maybe a 20 minute drive. The shower and bathroom facilities were on point, clean and topped with complimentary hair care products and towels. In the evening I even got to say hi to the ponies grazing right next to the apartment! In the evening when we sat outside, you couldn't hear a thing, it was so quiet and beautiful. Everything worked like a dream, not one hiccup on the road. Arja really made us feel comfortable and welcome knowing she was just a text message away. I'd recommend this place for anyone traveling around Ähtäri in need of an Airbnb. Thank you Arja!

The apartment has a great location that is walking distance from downtown Vaasa. The kitchen is well equipped and modern. The apartment also offers a windowed balcony with great views over the city. For those travelling by car, there are lots of free parking places nearby. Overall great 6 weeks experience, thank you DP apartments!

Everything was perfect! The apartment is absolutely clean and well-kept. It was very clear instruction how to come in. I travel by car and it was so nice to have option to keep the car in the garage. And wow- this sauna in apartment :) I will come back there for sure :)

This is one of the most practical places to stay in Vaasa. It is located in a nice neighborhood with a few steps (walk) you are already at the center and train station. The host was nice and communicated well before I received the key. The room was clean and nice. It was also nice to have a laundry machine in the house. Great place!

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful, private cottage in Peräseinäjoki. The cottage is new with a lovely yard, great farm views on two sides, and woods on the other. The sauna was exceptionally clean, with a well-designed water outlet to keep it dry, and the grill facilities were excellent. There were plenty of bikes of all sizes at the main gate, and the cycling paths around the farm and woods were perfect. Our kids loved seeing the sheeps, hens, roosters, rabbits, horse, and pony—and we even spotted cats and dogs. The farm is really big and beautiful. Merja, the host, was fantastic—super responsive and kind. At 7 AM, she promptly brought us what we needed and even gave my wife medication for a headache. Her father was also very helpful and adjusted a bike for me to ride to the S-market. We tried to extend our stay, but all the cottages were booked. If you want to stay, book early! Highly recommended. We will come back again soon and this time try to book more in advance.

I stayed for about 3 weeks in the winter in one of the little cabin's on Harri's property (there's 2 small ones and one larger one) to be away from people, out in nature and disconnected from technology. It's a beautiful place on a beautiful lake. I walked every day all around the area. The cabin is so cute and simple. I was so grateful to have both electric heat as an option, and the wonderful fireplace for mornings and evenings. Communication was easy and timely and all of my questions were answered. I bet it's so beautiful in the summer, too. I highly recommend this (or any of Harri's other places) for any person or people wanting to be in the Finnish country surrounded by beauty!
